“You knew the rules. You fucked up. It’s your fault. And now, he comes back to you, in pieces.”

A blunt, to the point message from the sadistic serial killer in Deadly Lies, the third installment of the Deadly series by Cynthia Eden.

FBI Special Agent Samantha Kennedy has been to hell and back after being abducted and tortured by a serial killer dubbed “The Watchman” (Deadly Fear). Plagued by constant nightmares of her abduction, Sam has had a difficult time trying to take her life back both pers...more

This was one heck of a romantic suspense thriller. Cynthia uses the right formula in her book's that just keeps me wanting more. Like all the other book's in this series, Deadly lies also had great chemistry between the H&h and the love scenes were well done, What Cynthia does the best in my opinion is weaves a story unlike any I have read before. Her villains are so twisted and the story is so chilling. I have not read many Romantic Suspense thrillers but of the one's I have read, Cynthia E...more

Cynthia Eden tells a delicious tale of lies, deceit and danger in Deadly lies and let me tell you she sure didn’t skip out on the blazing hot sex in this book *still fanning self*. I sure hope Cynthia will keep writing more books for this series, because not only is this my favorite suspense series, but this book left me wanting to read more. The best part of Cynthia writing suspense romance is I’m getting to read a terrific romance along with the suspense, where most suspense writers skip out o...more

Loved this book!! Deadly Fear was good, Deadly Heat was Great, and this 3rd book to the Deadly Series blew me away!!! I loved Sam & Max. The story was intense and again Cynthia Eden had me guessing almost to the end on who the actual killer was. Hopefully this will not be the last book in the series....I would love to read Jon Ramirez', Hyde's & Kim's book's. Excellent series lots of suspense that keeps you guessing and plenty of hot romance!!

GASP…I need air… I don’t think I took a breath while reading this book. I thought book one Deadly Fear was great. Then ok…can Cynthia Eden do a repeat with Deadly Heat? YES! Alright, what are the chances the third book Deadly Lies can measure up since the bar has been set so high? It jumped right over that bar, because this book was even BETTER! Oh, our quiet, shy, Samantha Kennedy is no longer the victim. She is going to prove that she has overcome the trauma inflicted on her in Deadly Fear. Sh...more

Cynthia Eden seems to just get better and better with each of the books in her Deadly Series. Not only are these books full of nail-biting, heart-pounding suspense, but they are also scorching hot! Deadly Lies, in my opinion, was the best in the series so far.

Deadly Lies focuses on SSD FBI Agent Samantha Kennedy. If you’ve read Deadly Fear, then you already know the trauma she suffered at the hands of a cold-blooded serial killer. Sam is desperate to get past the nightmares and fear that consume...more

SO GOOD!

While this book is fine as a stand-alone, I think it's best if Deadly Fear is read to get the entire story of what happened to her. Sam, still trying to heal from the aftermath of book one, is determined to show the other Serial Service Division members she can handle the pressure. A wealthy self-made Max happens to be Sam's target for a one-night stand. An insane kidnapper also happens to set his target on Max through his stepbrother Quinlan. Soon he finds that Sam isn't being entirely...more

Deadly Lies was one quite fascinating read that was full of action and steamy encounters between the hero and the heroine. If you love Pamela Clare's I-Team series or have a thing for romantic suspense, then you should definitely check this one out. Cynthia Eden is slightly new to the romance department but she is one talented lady! You can't exactly read this certain book as a stand-alone because the first book, Deadly Fear is significantly important or related to our heroine, Samantha Kennedy....more

Wow, this series is such a pleasant surprise. I tried book one recently and really enjoyed it, so immediately ordered books two and three. The series gets better as it goes along and this book has been the best of the series so far!

I like the lead gal--the strength/growth she showed in the aftermath of her attack. The plot is full of twists and turns, and the bad guy was a total surprise. Only negative for me is the sex scenes are sometimes a bit much for me. (...more

Easily the best book of the Deadly trilogy. The chemistry between the Max and Samantha was smoking and the suspense plot was full of more twists than a bag of pretzels. I cannot wait to see what Cynthia Eden does with the rest of this series. Loved it.

Deadly Lies is the third in Ms Eden's Deadly Series. While this book would be amazing alone, I highly recommend you read at least Deadly Fear (#1) first. You will then truly have a grasp on Sam's situation and you will be able to relate to her more.

Sam is a computer whiz who works with the FBI and Max is a person she met one night while out trying to forget about her troubles. The chemistry is explosive and Sam's fear is so real you can almost feel it. Ms Eden really knows how to write emotion a...more

I have never read a book by Cynthia Eden before. Honestly, I had never heard of her until I saw a giveaway for this book here on goodreads, as well as a few blogs. From the description, it sounds like a book (a series)I would enjoy, so I decided to enter .
Lucky me! I won a copy! Not only that, but by entering this giveaway, I learned of Cynthia Eden. I realized this is the 3rd in a series, but have been unsuccessful in locating the first two in the series. I hope to find and read them before th...more

I loved the couple from this book right away. I loved the way that they meet for the first time, the only thing better was the second. I liked that each of them held back so many secrets. By doing so it really made it hard for them to trust each other, they had to depend more on the attraction, which just added more tension to the story.

I thought the crime of the book was horrible. It was even more so when you realized just who the bad guy was.

I find it very interesting the little nuggets of Hy...more

The third book of Cynthia Eden's "Deadly" series features FBI SSD Agent, Samantha Kennedy. For anyone to fully appreciate her as character, I think it will be best to read Deadly Fear then we can see how she struggles with her fear, nightmare, and avoid the stigma of being a victim.

This one is much better than book #2 and definitely flies faster than book #1 (although Monica and Luke are still the best couple for me). Unlike the previous two books, Sam's love interest is technically NOT a hero....more

I jumped right from Deadly Heat into this one. So it almost seemed as if it was just an "extension" to the other book. The story line is different, but the characters are from the first two in the series. So by the time I made it to this third book I was so familiar with them that it was as if I really knew who they were and how they operated.

This book follows Samantha, who has some serious problems in the first book. But she's dealing and is back to do what she can to help her team. I really c...more

I just finished reading Deadly Lies and I was disappointed that it ended. This was an amazing trilogy. Full of so much sizzling hot romance, lots of mystery and suspense, and action. It was fast paced and very hard to put down. Each installment was as great as the other. I do have to suggest that if you choose to read this and I HIGHLY recommend it, you should start at the beginning with Deadly Fear, then go to Deadly Heat and then finally Deadly Lies. It’s important because you not only get to...more

Deadly Lies was intriguing almost from the start. I was enthralled from the beginning of the book. I was amazed by the maze the author set up for me. I wanted to be one of the people in the book, trying to figure it all out. when everything started coming to light I was just going crazy, trying to tell the characters who it was, who to look for, and what to do as if they could hear me. I didn’t exactly figure it all out because there were so many people involved. When the actual kidnapper/killer...more

I do not want this series to end. I wish it were never ending and I could just keep reading about all the different FBI agents in the SSD.

I love Samantha. She's still trying to move past the unfortunate incident that sprang upon her in the first book. But she's damn strong, stronger than she gives herself credit for. Max certainly helped her grow as a character.

Ah, Max... What can I say about dear old, Max? He's flawed. He's sexy. He gave Sam exactly what she needed, when she needed it. He was...more

This was a hot exciting and thrilling book. It kept me up at night to find out who did it and even when I knew who it was I still wanted to know why and would he be found out!! from the very first page I was hooked and loved every minute of it. Samantha was adorable in a strong kick your ass kind of way and Max was the perfect partner for Samantha to find her self again with.

The web that was spun around them was complex with out being confusing and had enough twists and turns to keep you guessin...more

Loved, loved, loved this third addition to the Deadly series. As other reviewers have recommended, suggest you read Deadly Fear before picking up this one. First, because it's a freakin' awesome book, and second, because it adds an additional layer of intrigue and suspense to Deadly Lies.

The characters were exceedingly well drawn, and because of that, it made the sex scenes that much more poignant and real. We "get" why Sam does what she does, and I like the fact Ms. Eden didn't shy away from a...more

Deadly Lies by Cynthia Eden is the third book of the author’s Deadly series. I hadn't read anything from Cynthia before reading Deadly Lies and I have to say that nothing is better than finding a new author and a new series. After reading this one, I was hooked and definitely want to go back and read the first and second one also.

What a good trilogy this was! Cynthia Eden definitely has a winner with this set of romantic suspense books. I hope she is able to continue it...

Series Note:
Third (and final??) book in Eden's "Deadly" series about the FBI's Serial Services Division. I'd definitely recommend reading at least book 1 before this one as it shows you what happens to the heroine.

Summary:
Samantha Kennedy is struggling to get back to her life and her job after being abducted, tortured and nearly killed by a serial kille...more

My opinion, point blank - without making circles - is that this last piece of Deadly was the best. In this book Sam’s back and struggling to get back with full force and proving how she’s doing and how far she can be entrusted with a case. And a man will help and prove to her that she can indeed trust someone with her fears, his name is Max.

On the surface she’s kind of alright since her attack on the first book - Deadly Fear - aka Monica and Luke’s story, and trying to prove not only to herself...more

Overall a really good romance suspense story, but a bit too dark for my normal reading tastes. This had some seriously gruesome scenes, so beware. But the romance was hot, and I loved the chemistry between H/h.

I was able to review Cynthia's first two books in this series Deadly Fear (Deadly Fear & Deadly Heat) and I am extremely happy that I was able to review Book #3 in the Deadly series Deadly Lies.

I enjoyed Deadly Lies from the first page all the way tell the end. This book was action packed threw and threw. If you haven't read the other two this could be read as a stand alone book. I highly recommend this series. I am so glad to find this author I will be looking for more of her work in the f...more

OK I like these books, I kind of feel like I'm watching Criminal Minds or something when i'm reading these. I did predict the bad guy on this but only after I read half the book and even then I was still on the edge of my seat, heart racing, page turning untill the end to find out how it would all turn out. I don't know how Eden does it, coming up with these plots and some really sick sick sick individuals.

I really wish there is going to be a book for Kim and Jon and maybe find out who took Hyde...more

My favorite of the series. The mystery/suspense was better in this one. Lots of sexy time. And Max was yummy!

I really liked the book. Like all books with law-enforcement characters some situations were utterly ridiculous and unrealistic, but it wasn't in an annoying way. The heightened drama made things more interesting and showed the characters in different light under different circumstances. That made the love story really intense, I liked both of the main characters and I liked them together. I also like reading about the team's interactions and work And the kidnapping plot was the most interesting...more
