I will start this review by saying I have not read any of the the previous Blood Coven books. That said, it was really easy to get into Blood Ties and follow along. The first chapter has Sunny summarizing what has happened to her so far to get her to where she is at the start of Blood Ties. Of course this is brief so as not to bore those who have read the series, but enough detail so those of us just picking up Blood Ties can catch up. It was a good enough catch-up to me that I was able to follo ...more

Mancusi never fails to make me laugh when reading her books, she effortlessly weaves ancient vampires, fairies, slayers and laughs into a lovely book.

This book is written in the point of view of Sunshine aka Sunny; the more tame of the two twins. Honestly, reading in the point of view of Rayne appeals to me more, I like her sarcasm and witty remarks, and frankly I like Jareth more than Magnus :/

Though the story was good and the plot inte

In Blood Ties, Jayden's mortality is in danger. You remember him? Super sweet guy from Vegas who saved Sunny's life?? Well, now it's Sunny's turn to help Jayden. If they only knew this was the least of their problems. You see, evil fairy-vampire slayers threaten to rise and take over the world! Okay, that might be a slightly bit dramatic on my part, but you get what I'm saying ;) So it's up to the McDonald sisters and their vampire BFs to stop them and their evil p

I absolutely loved this book! It starts off right where the last one ended. When she first threw some fairies into the mix I didn't think Id still follow, but here I am sad as ever that the book ended, because now I have to wait a whole year! Seriously publishing companies stop printing books that don't sell and move up the dates on the good ones.

So Sunny learns that Jayden (the boy she sorta had a thing for at the end of the last book, but went back to Magnus) ends up being turned into a vampi

I’ve always been a fan of the Blood Coven Vampires series but somehow, Blood Ties did not get to me at all. The book was written from Sunny’s perspective and, my god, is that girl annoying. Not only is she shallow but she’s a mess. She’s flaky, she doesn’t know what she wants and she somehow expects the world to revolve around her. There were so many times in that book where I was so frustrated at her, I could barely contain myself from throwing the book across the room. Or somehow reach into th ...more

Plot: I had to skip the fifth book to read this one since it didn't come in on time. But, I didn't really need to read the fifth one to understand this book's plot. Mancusi elegantly went over some details of the previous book, so that people like me weren't as lost. I think the plot was the right way to break off from the last installment and move forward to the next one. It follows Sunny and goes through her love triangle along with her trying to save Jayden's life. She took a lot more risks, ...more

Here’s a little ditty about Sunny and Magnus. 2 people doing the best they can. Magnus is the master vampire of the Blood Coven, while Sunny MacDonald is a Princess from the Fairyland realm of Sidhe Light Court who is trying to live a normal life in Las Vegas. Normal and Las Vegas? Right!

Throwing a fit after learning that Magnus is once again being called away to Japan at the insistence of the Consortium and its meg

So I think I'm going to start with the good points.
The book is quite funny and more than I expected to be!
Also I like the location of Japan and that they are back at England!
So, now the bad annoying Sunny is! I like her sister much more...Bad magnum (oh! XD Magnus! I know lame joke but I can't stop reading Magnum instead of Magnus...Maybe I should eat more ice cream *_*?)

Ok, back to the main points of this review… She is really stupid but ;_; why she says the poor Jareth is stupid w

First Impressions: The Blood Coven book series is one of my guilty pleasures, even though it is a tad bit cheesy. I read the first five books in this series and was super excited to receive the sixth and almost final book for my review. I had been itching to read this book since its August release and I was so glad to finally get around to it from my TBR pile.

First 50 Pages: I'm going to try to make this a short review because I hate to give away spoilers, especially when it comes to an almost f

I really don't know why I like this series so much, but I do.

I thought this one was much better than the last one, perhaps because Rayne's narration grates on my nerves and this one was narrated by Sunny. In the beginning of this series, I hated Sunny's narration and loved Rayne's, but that has certainly changed. Rayne just makes too many stupid mistakes and it's much less irritating to read about those in Sunny's story then to be along for the ride in Rayne's story.

I love these book quite a lot, especially books told from Sunny's point of view. Blood Ties is no let down from the prior books in this fabulous series. It is definitely a contender for my favorite book in the series, this will probably change when the next book comes out, as the books grow by leaps and bounds with every new installment.

I definitely was not sure what I would think of this one, when I finished Night School I was excited for this one to come out. I finally got it, and read the fi

This is the first book in the series that I have read, you definitely miss out on some background and relationship development but over all it was pretty easy to follow along with the plot. Sunny really wants to live a normal life but things keep getting thrown at her to make it clear she will never have one. There is even some background story in the beginning to help catch you up which really did help. A big part of the sto

These books are always such fun to read. I don't enjoy Sunny's POV as much as I do Rayne's but this book was still a delight to read. One of the reasons I don't love Sunny's POV is that she has a tendency to whine. She goes into so much "poor me, I just wanted to be normal" drama especially at the beginning of this book but toward the end she has some pretty kick-ass moments and is a huge part of resolving the conflict with the Alphas. Also I don't see at all what she sees in Jayden, he seems mo ...more

Blood Ties is the 6th book in the Blood Coven Vampire novels by Mari Mancusi. So now that the twins’ mother has taken the position of the Queen of Fairyland we’re left wondering what else is in store for the sisters and their boyfriends. Well lets just say we’re in for a wild ride on this one. With everything going down in Japan and then throwing Jayden into the mix again things get pretty interesting for everyone involved. But as always the McDonald sisters come out on top with the help of thei ...more

Blood Ties had laughter, love, and suspense... It began where Night School left off. Sunny and Rayne are back from fairyland and trying to attend school like normal teens. It doesn't take long though until Jayden is back in the picture and with a secret of his own. As they search for the Holy Grail Corbin makes a reappearance and he wants Rayne all to himself. Will she be able to steer clear of the danger he brings...? Read to Find out!

In this book, I realized that I hate Sunny's POV and that I like Rayne's much better. But then again I've last read this series two years ago so I might have had different taste since then.

It's just that her mind is so fickle. One moment she's all over Magnus and then the next she's flirting with Jayden. I mean, why can't she just be faithful to Magnus - good god we are talking about MAGNUS over here, how can you cheat on that guy. But then again, if Sunny didn't screw up at the very moment the

I really like this series...Both sisters, Rayne and Sunny, are fun to read about and I am always eager for the next book to see what is going to happen.
Blood Ties takes us on a journey with Sunny this time and the struggles she is dealing with. I wasn't very happy with where I thought Ms. Mancusi was taking us, but the decisions that Sunny had to go through were tough and real life struggles. Great read and definitely love Magnus!!!

This book was hard to believe with what Sunshine did to save everyone it took me a while to get through but well worth the read Mari Mancusi is one of a kind writer for this series and I only have two more books to get through but anyways Sunshine,Magnus,Jareth,Jayden, and Rayne are all of one of a kind an worth knowing for this book especially finding out the cause of everything. I do recommend reading this one.

Was a little disappointed in this one. Normally I prefer the books from Sunny's point of view as she is normally smarter and nicer than Rayne. However in this book she came across as the whiny selfish brat she was accused of being. Not that it is all her fault. Magnus dismisses her and treats her like a child. I just don't buy them as a couple. She would have been much better off with Jayden (from the previous book - not this one).

Yes, I did read this book in the course of one day. For a series that I really wasn't fond of in the beginning, I devoured this one like my world was ending. I do wish that Sunny would stop doubting Magnus at every turn, that seriously annoys the hell out of me. I can't wait for the next book. The sneak peek in the back of this one killed me.

I enjoyed this one the most so far. Nothing like a good lot of angst along with action to keep the pages turning. Even if Sunny at times was a whinging pain in the neck - lol! The guys in the book all have their individual charm - I really think Sunny needs to rethink some of her choices though...

Sunny is not my favorite kick-ass goth twin but this book is pretty forgivable. I really like it. Japan, Gothic Loli, end of the world, taking down a bene-gesserit plot. Now, since we had a Disney book last year, its refreshing to get a darker side of Sunny. Can't wait for Rayne's book.

Worship Mari Mancusi! She's got great style and a "pop culture" flair for writing. I love Sunny and Rayne; however, I prefer Rayne's POV. Maybe because she's a troublemaker? Sunny musts whines a lot to me.

Blood Ties was a fun and easy read as are the rest of the Bood Coven series. Sunny and Rayne are so funny with their witty remarks and situations they always end up in. Mancusi's books are always a great laugh and great to read when waiting for a new book to come out.
