Also appears on The Screaming Nitpicker.

This is my opinion of the series in a nutshell: ""No," he said. "Just no."" (All You Desire, p. 121)

The little praise I have for bad books seem to get lost in the noise when I include them closer to the end of a review, so I'll state them first and get it over with. If there's one character I really like, it's Leah, one of Haven's friends who has visions of the future. Her personality appeals to be and I would love to read more about her. Yeah, she's just...more

Haven and Ian are at it again in the sequel to Eternal Ones. After being reincarnated after each of their many deaths, they're finally able to be happy together without the threat of Adam, Haven's lover from a previous life, coming after them. With Ian's death faked and the two of them living in Italy, they're able to enjoy one another's company. But are they? It isn't long before Haven's best friend is kidnapped and she must set out to save him in New York where the OS is still flourishing and...more

There were many themes throughout this book. One of the themes that stood out to me was the fact that the main character Haven traveled through many obstacles to save her best friend Beau. Beau had been kidnapped but a supernatural society called the Ouroboros Society. Haven and Beau had been friends for all their lives. Even throughout their previous lives they had either been brother and sister, or really close friends. In my opinion, the biggest theme of the book was the strong bond between H...more

As with her prior book, Kirsten’s discussion of reincarnation is original and compelling. She continues to balance the fantastical with realistic elements, though the fantastical takes on a stronger presence by pure plot design.

In many ways, Haven continues to be naïve. She is often unsure of others’ motives and is trusting in nature. While some readers might find this frustrating, it plays well to her character and the overall story arch. It’s to be expected tha...more

I love this book!

Epic love story. And yes, I used the words epic and love as in I lovedlovedloved this novel of epic proportions. And I haven't even read the first in the series. All You Can Desire is a fantastic book with plenty of romance, mystery and suspense to keep you reading.

After going through my whole dystopian craze, I felt I needed a romance and some actual "I love you" romance, not the "we're gonna die in this society so lets break free" kinda romance. And of course, intead of optin...more

Haven and Iain have been living happily ever after in Italy for the past year. Iain has been laying low after his assumed demise, Haven as a clothing designer with her own modest shop. But paradise isn't in the cards for the soul mates. Haven's inheritance is being contested and her best friend Beau has gone missing, everywhere Haven turns she thinks she's being watched, followed. Of course number one bad guy Adam Rosier is the prime suspect but he's not the only one keeping tabs on Haven.

She'l...more

Okay, so I loved this book. I have to admit that while I liked the first one, I only bought this one because it was 50% off. I am so glad I did. This was a very fulfilling sequel. It's just that everything Kristen Miller had left me wanting for at the end of book one is exactly what she delivered with this one. Usually an author promises so much exciting stuff and rarely am I as satisfied as I was this time.

And on top of that, my one hang up with the first book, which was my dislike of the main...more

I’m starting to think that books about past lives and reincarnation are becoming my thing. I seem to just keep seeking them out, and publishers seem to be finding an emerging market for them. In the last year or so we’ve had My Name is Memory, Falling Under, Wake Unto Me, Timeless and if you think about it, even Beautiful Creatures & Beautiful Darkness dipped their toes into past life regression to an extent. Since I happened to have loved all of these books, it comes as no surprise that I w...more

Haven Moore and Iain Morrow thought they could escape the Ouroboros Society and everything else by running away to Rome. They’re happy enough, even when Haven starts to suspect that they are being watched and followed. But their bubble of bliss is finally burst when Haven finds out that her best friend Beau has gone missing. There’s nothing that Haven wouldn’t do for Beau, so she and Iain return to New York City to begin their search despite the very real danger posed by their close proximity to...more

First, whoever is in charge of naming these books needs to find a new career titling songs. The titles are embarrassing. Also the girl on the cover does not have the crazy curls that Haven is described as having.

I had an extremely difficult time starting this book. The first few chapters are hard to get into with all the whining that Haven is doing. Only when I sat down and forced myself to read a few chapters in one sitting did I get sucked back in.

The drama was exciting though once again, I...more

I am sooo not really into the supernatural romance trend in teen fiction right now but I got sucked into this series on the basis of another (amazing) children's/tween's series by the same author.

Basically: Malevolent secret societies in New York + elements of historical fiction + 3-dimensional gay characters + stuff about reincarnation/witches/classical myths + a healthy dose of glamour in the setting (tabloid stars & fashion design) + a love triangle plot not wholly dissimilar from the oo...more

The Eternal Ones continues with book two in the series, All You Desire. Haven and Iain are in hiding, trying to live out this lifetime they have together in peace, enjoying the deep love between them without any of the horrible interruptions they've had every time for the past 2,000 years. But though their love lasts forever, the peace will not. Soon Haven notices people watching her,...more

As seen at Wisdom From A Teenage Bookworm (http://www.bookwormwisdom.blogspot.com):

All You Desire was everything I look for in a sequel. It was a realistic continuation to the previous novel, The Eternal Ones, and it pulled together strong characters, strong plots, strong settings, and strong emotions. It also threw in many surprising plot twists, that left me wondering who to trust, and who to believe in. This book had me so emotionally attached to it, that I had to stop reading it at some spot...more

This book was a pleasant surprise. I remember little from the The Eternal Ones beyond it being one of the seemingly thousands eternal-love-through-reincarnations books that have appeared in the past few years. Obviously I was intrigued enough to pick up the sequel, but I don’t remember much else.

Luckily All You Desire managed to catch me up enough (without a Babysitters’ Club style expository chapter) that it was easy to follow the action even without remembering every detail of th...more

An excellent follow up to The Eternal Ones. Kirsten continues to develop the characters. We learn so much and yet she leaves us an opening for book three :). The flow of this book is steady. Action is continuous. Very well written.

We start out in Rome 18 months after The Eternal Ones ends. Iain and Haven are living happily or so she thinks. Then she starts seeing and feeling they are being watched. They think Adam has found them. Then Haven's assets are frozen as Iain's mother is contesting the...more

While the only reason I put The Eternal Ones on my list was because it took place in east Tennessee, I ended up being pleasantly surprised by Miller's writing. It's a bit thicker than other YA books, but it reads just as easily and just as quickly. So when I was at the library last week and saw All You Desire on the shelf, I snatched it up before some one could steal it from before my eyes. It hasn't been that long since I finished book 1 (less than a month!) so I had no idea to expect a sequel;...more

All You Desire is that really good second book one seeks in a trilogy. While I rated its predecessor five stars, this sequel had moments of brilliance and also moments of fizzle. I think the storyline in the first book was much more intriguing, the romance was a bit more ardent and the characters were better developed in the initial book. One thing I recognize the author did for the readers of this book is an excellent recap. While I had just finished the first book and the recap was unnecessary...more

Im not sure how i feel about book two. on one hand i got to see the backstory behind the characters and Adam is further explained, on the other hand i felt like it was almost a repeat of book one with the exception the Adam is not completely evil. Nothing is truly ever resolved because it seems everything is destined to repeat itself like history. i finish this book with a sense of dread and resignation because of that. I wish Iain was explored even more because i feel like he is too cookie-cutt...more

This book I think was good, I liked it and yes maybe all you haters- Haven was going back and forth and deciding who to trust between everyone......But isn't that how everyone is...
So don't hate, and give this book a try, I enjoyed it. It had so many twist and turns, that you didn't know what would happen next or even who to believe, and you can't help but wonder what the true story of everyone is all about, so many unanswered questions but I just hope there will be a third, I really enjoyed the...more

Oh my gosh! I actually ended up liking this book better than the first one, although I didn't think I would at first. The ending was perfect, and all the characters I had a strong emotional attachment to were exonerated, and all the ones I hated were vilified! I was quite scared Adam and Owen would both turn out to be evil, but they weren't, which is great. I really liked the introduction of the Horae into this book, too...I'm glad the magos has some opposition now! And, I'm starting to like Hav...more

It's very rare that sequels are as good or better than the first book. However with this book that is the case. I was at first apprehensive because The Eternal Ones was so original and fascinating, I didn't believe any story after it could live up to its greatness. But the proof is in all the emotions I was feeling throughout this story. Once again I was caught up in the termoil that Haven must feel all the time. Not knowing who to trust, what to do, who to love. I admit, her wavering toward Ada...more

Just finished it and all I can say is: wow. So much better than The Eternal Ones! Though at points it was annoying me and sometimes the plot would slow down to slug speed, it's a solid five stars for me!

Well, that was exhausting!... it was rough getting there, but I did finish ALL YOU DESIRE (Eternal Ones #2). To be honest, it’s more of a 2 ½ stars book for me, but that’s not an option, so I rounded up for reasons that are soon to be clear. The first 300 pages were somewhat torturous and if it wasn’t for the last 100 pages the book would have been a complete wash for me.

Two major issues with ALL YOU DESIRE; First, the pacing is painfully slow for most of the book and Second, Haven is just so i...more

Thank you, just thank you for writing a gorgeous second novel. All You Desire is probably, only a little bit though my favourite out of the two, Haven and Iain are just as amazing and with Beau in danger it all hits the fans! Adam Rosier, is the bad guy...who you love! He's swarve, sophisticated and gorgeous (more so than Iain? I've yet to decide). The once again grabbed my attention from the get go, and I found myself being thrown all over the place, whether two trust Adam or whether to trust t...more

Okay, seriously, this is why I don't read incomplete series'. Because I get so hooked that when there is not a sequel to look forward to I have to wait!!! Kirsten Miller please tell me you are writing a sequel! I hung on every single word, found myself fighting the urge to open the book just to read one sentence during the stupidest and most inappropriate moments possible! I felt confused, elated, depressed, felt every emotion Haven and Iain felt and worst of all, now I have to wait for a sequel...more

I actually picked this book up at Borders when they were going out of business and after I started reading it I realized it was the second one in the Eternal Ones series. Just with that first chapter I was already hooked, I stopped reading, ran out, bought and devoured the first book. I love the idea of reincarnation and this is the first book that I've ever read that really interwines it into the story and does it well. With the first book I found myself hating the "bad guy" and rooting for Have...more

I hate Haven with a passion.

I don't mind most of the characters, they are all fine with the exception of Haven, which is sad as she is the protagonist. What is it with this girl and indecisiveness!!! Seriously make up your mind already, either you trust someone or you don't - there's something called GUT FEELING, try following it next time! Jeez...
