I'm a huge fan of Gestalt and wanted to better understand practices of it, like a "how to" so I picked this up. It does cover the basics such as:
Focuses on the HERE and NOW! Exercise with partner where say I see... I feel.... I imagine and by being present you listen as opposed to thinking about what you'll say next.
Gestalt goal is to take all broken parts and integrate to make whole again.
I was hoping it'd go a little more in depth of examples and what/how it was used for patient growth.

The best gestalt book I've read that addresses the old style gestalt as well as the modern relational gestalt. Written very clearly and simply. I'm very appreciative of David Mann's time and care in presenting the full spectrum of gestalt and pointing out repeatedly that this is his take and gestalt can be practiced in many different ways.

This book was super helpful to me as I was first starting to understand gestalt theory. The chapters are short and very easy to digest. Lots of important concepts are covered too. If you are just beginning to explore gestalt theory, I recommend having this book around
