С первых страниц у меня дух захватило от почти осязаемого описания моментов счастья. Такое безусловное, почти физиологическое счастье я испытывал только в далеком детстве. Покорила и форма романа - письма двух любящих людей, которые пишет друг-другу, не смотря на то, что их линии жизни как-то непредсказуемо, но столь же закономерно разошлись, как только могут разойтись параллельные линии (sic).

Sascha und Wolodja verbindet eine Sommerliebe. Dann jedoch trennt sie der Krieg und ihre Kommunkation findet nur über Briefe statt – Briefe, in denen sie ihre Gedanken zu diesem und jenem austauschen, in denen sie von Erlebtem berichten und ihre Gefühle bis zum kleinsten Teilchen beleuchten.

Very sensual, very "meta", very counter-intuitive. You expect nostalgia and you get nostalgia for trash cans and genuinely unsuccessful moments. And then, everything has a smell in this book. And one more thing, it is full of genuinely non-conventional quotes on love, life, the universe and everything. In my opinion it is a book that you gradually grow to appreciate, but then if you do, you will be amazed. Das dieser Briefroman keine gewöhnliche Liebesgeschichte ist, wird einem schon auf den ersten Seiten klar. Man wird verzaubert von Worten und Gedanken, aber man versteht zunächst… nichts. Oder nicht viel. Es geht um Melonen, Mohrrüben, Mona Lisa und Krieg, ein sogenannter „Segen für das keuche Vaterland“, welcher ein junges, verliebtes Paar gewaltsam auseinanderreißt. Sasa si Volodia sunt despartiti de razboi. Legatura lor traieste prin scrisorile pe care si le trimit. Kiekvienas žodis sprogsta vaizdiniu, nuo pat pradžių, nuo pat pirmos pastraipos. Iki skausmo tikra, nors viskas ir išgalvota.
Слишком хорошо для моих комментариев. Отмечу только, что забавно, что почти никто из критиков не понял, почему отец героини был сначала дирижером, а потом летчиком.
Superbă . Povestea de dragoste dintre cei doi e complicată și trăită artificial ,doar prin scrisori , însă e mai reală și mai adevărată decât atâtea alte lucruri.
