This is good primer if you're at all interested understanding yourself better. It's my third book on the Myer Briggs Type Indicator, it helped me understand myself and others better. The book talks about behavior patterns within people and categorizes people within 8 basic Jungian preferences.

If you want to know more about yourself and get a deeper meaning of your personality, than this book is great for that. As for a girl who has trouble with people skills, it may help to understand some people a bit more. Although it is no substitute for your personality, I found a lot of things true.
