Blood Destiny is the first book in Tessa Dawn's Blood Curse series and the start to an exciting series.

I have to say, I was pretty excited to find out about this series because I adore vampires but they've been done to death and I'm pretty sure I've read them all. Blood Destiny is edgy, fast paced and sexy, with vampires, shifters, mages, gods and goddess making up this unique world and complex characters. The writing isn't perfect in that there were some moments of cheesiness and the telepathi...more

This was a pretty good first book in the Blood Curse series. I read this with my friend, Sharon, and i agree with her that there are some similarities with Christine Feehan's Carpathian series...and it's mostly because of the way these vampires carry themselves/act and speak to their woman...very old school vampire novel.

I would have to say that the one thing i didn't care for much was the romance between the two main characters..well...at least in the 1st half of the book...ac...more

Tessa Dawn introduces us to a new type of vampire in her new book Blood Destiny. Blood Destiny is book 1 in the Blood Curse Series.

Nathaniel Silivasi is a descendant of the Celestial Being Jadon. He is a vampire, a being of both darkness and light. His job as an Ancient Master Warrior vampire is to protect the Earth and it's inhabitants from the Dark Ones. His truly evil vampire brethren, the descendants of Jeager.

The mythos: the Blood Curse which is put on the vamps, who are human descendants of an ancient royal family. One concession of this curse is that some of these descendants get to have a destined mate, and has to convert-her-or-die. Yet, while reading this cumbersome tale of these descendants, divided by two brothers, two houses, good and evil, and twins begetting twins, I couldn't help but hope for an injection of cleverness of dialogue and character.

From the ancient royals, twin broth...more

HOLY SHIT! That is all I can say about this book. I am going to say something only because it is absolutely true; this is one of the BEST books I have read in my life. It is everything I ever wanted my vampires to be, scary as hell and yet too sexy for your eyes...more

I loved Blood Destiny!! Tessa Dawn takes us into a new world of vampires. It's unique and exciting and I absolutely could not put this book down! I read it in one day and loved it so much I ordered it for a friend and gave it to her.
This is a fresh look into a world of vampires. It's definitely got some dark moments. (Please, be warned that some of the scenes in this book are very dark and disturbing!) But it has it's fair share of humor! It's full of passion and emotion. It has a lot of suspen...more

What a great book this was! I have not read something that grabed me like this in a while.

Ms. Dwan puts a new and creative twist to the ancient vampire warriors tale. I loved the concept of the cursed vampires bloodlines, and oh my the execution is just masterful and unique. The plot has all the elements I love in a good vampire history. It's all romantic, humorous, unpredictable, dark, disturbing & gory and un-put-down-able.

Yes! Un-put-down-able!!! If you love all these elements into a bo...more

I started reading this series a few days ago and I must admit it is one of a smaller series of books that I found interesting but difficult to read. The vampires brothers are interesting enough but I found most of the time I didn't like them very much. The situations that the author created I find difficult to accept (even reminding myself constantly that this is just a story).

I like reading books that by the end I want at least one character to live.... not so much with this book. Maybe I'm ge...more

Although cursed by The Celestial Gods, Nathaniel Silivasi was born a son of the light and therefore must find his true destiny… his one and only soul mate. Finding the woman that was made for him seems hopeless and out of reach, but when Nathaniel stumbles upon the distressed, petrified yet determinedly strong willed, Jocelyn Levi, in the forest that surrounds his property, (complete with the tell tale mark upon her wrist signifying that she is indeed his) he must convince her to become a part o...more

Well one thing I'll say about this author is she is raw!! And I effing love it!! She's not afraid to do things with her characters and she sheds some blood with them as well.
A lot goes on in this book but to try and sum it up it's about 5 brothers. And long before these brothers came out there were two brothers, twins to be exact named Jadon and Jaegar. The two brothers did some pretty evil stuff and now have the Blood Curse apon them. Their sons and their sons will one day meet their Destiny an...more

Making myself comfortable, I grabbed a warm blanket, the last cup of coffee for the evening, and a book. Tessa Dawn's Blood Destiny. My intention was to read a few chapters before calling it a night. I did not sleep! I literally could not stop reading. My first question to Tessa would be does she have an agent? For her book Blood Destiny, without a doubt is blockbuster movie material.
Tessa's imagination surpasses that of many of the authors whose novels have graced the big screen. Her words flo...more

Jadon and Jeagar are punished for their crimes, killing women. The punishment didn't stop with them, for the children and the children of their children and so on are cursed too. The curse, to wonder the night, living of the blood of innocents to survive, they will never know the love of women and will not produce female offspring, they will produce sets of twins made from darkness and will have to sacrifice their first born, failure to sacrifice they will meet a hideou...more

Blood Destiny is the story of a power hungry group that wanted to be more god like so they sacrificed women for power until they were stopped and had a curse placed on them. The two leaders were twin princes, Jaegar and Jadon but Jadon was against the sacrificing and asked for leniency. The curse was to effect them and all the following sons who would be born as twins. For the sons of Jaegar, the Dark ones, they are born evil, must drink blood, cannot go out in the sun, can never kn...more

What I got from the book. The descendent of Jargon will meet their destined mate and have children, always twin boys. They have to fulfill this curse within 30 days of meeting their mate and seeing the blood moon. The first born set of twin will be a child of light, the other a child of darkness. The child of darkness has to be sacrificed at birth to the gods as an appeasment for the atrocieties Jargon and Jeager did to the women of their time. The Dark Ones are the descendent of Jeager who felt...more

Talk about something new! The story and author rocked! Ms Tessa Dawn's characters were refreshing and I'm constantly amazed how one author could put her own spin when it comes to vampires and werewolves. Sure there's the classic battle between their kinds but in the vampire world, there are two warring factions: the descendants of Jadon (Light Ones) and descendants of Jaegar (Dark Ones). I won't go into the details but it's the never-ending battle between good and evil.

What Ms Dawn wrote was ver...more

Incredibly good book! Not for the faint of heart... there is a lot of graphic violence. There is some smex, but this isn't standard erotica where there is a 15 page smex scene every 10.5 pages... there are actually about 3 of them and two are good/loving, one is sort of violent. Not your JR Ward vamps for sure! The Silivasi vamps are truly butt-kickers! But, I loved them all and will be pre-ordering the next book.

I am impressed with Tessa Dawn's writing and her ability to make the characters lov...more

WOW I thought I was going to hate this book but sure enough close to the end I fell in love with all the characters. Very interesting Spin the author had on the history of the Vampires. There were two types of Vampires the light vs the dark. In the beginning I didn't much care for the Heroine, the author really didn't do alot of character development in a sense. I felt like she was just kindof stumbling along which she was in a sense on a case but then she ends up meeting the Hero and than the s...more

You would think that with all the vampires books I've read over the past several years that I would be burned out. You couldn't be more wrong. Whenever I find a dark fantasy novel with vampires and lycans I gobble them up like turkey on Thanksgiving Day.

Blood Destiny, by Tessa Dawn, is the first book in the Blood Curse series. It is a really interesting book. I love the differences between the vampires that Tessa Dawn has created. I eve...more

The Blood Destiny was a good read. I found the story line interesting. Nathaniel Silivasi, has just buried his youngest brother Shelby because his chance to avoid the curse of the Blood Moon, was stolen from him. When he hears Jocelyn Levi crying, he comes to her aid. While escorting her back to safety, Nathaniel sees the Blood Moon. Nathaniel and his brothers will go to any length to make sure that he doesn't suffer the same fate as Shelby. The Dark Ones and the Lycans, are trying to make sure...more

This was one of those kind of novels that grew on me. Even though the beginning was quite good, when the dust settled, I was not sure if this would be the book for me. But I am very glad that I continued reading. The heroine worked my nerves, but I understand why she behaved that way and it brought a crispness, a right feeling to the novel. Her reactions made sense in a real life way.

I give this a 4.5 only because I liked the older brother more than the hero. Now him I am extremely curious about...more

Got a sneek peak at the book coming out in December. I had to find out what would happen next. I didn't expect the turns it took nor how much action there was to go with the passion. Definitely a Vampire book for grownups.

Why didn't anyone tell me this was a "romance novel"?? Like the Harlequin-type! Although it was an interesting story...it dripped with superlatives about everything! Everyone was perfect and gorgeous and the vampires could do anything...like magic...it's like when you're a kid and you're playing make-believe. You make up the rules as you go along. "...and you locked the door, but I came in anyway because...I can walk through walls..." Not that I expect a vampire novel to be believable, but she c...more

A wonderful start to a new series! I loved the characters, their antagonist and the way the foundation of their world is built and added upon.

While there are vampire tales a plenty, I find that these vampires are enough different that it makes them intriguing in of themselves. Add the story, the antagonist, and the (at times) extreme challenges that they must face and it makes this a must read for me.

I have purchased all in the series, and this is the second time that I have read through them i...more

Really good read. I had started on my Kindle a while back, but had not continued for I needed to finish others. Wow, I sat at a Panara's by the fire place and picked up where I had left off which was at 40% started. I arrived home and finished the rest that night while I was under my comfy comforter!! My first for Tessa's and not my last. If the rest of the series reads like the first, one is in for a treat. Oh, to be one of the brother's Destiny's!! You'll be loved for an eternity!!

From the moment I read the very first sentence of Blood Destiny, I was beyond hooked and this book was impossible to put down (I seriously read it less than 24 hours). My expectations for vampire novels are probably unfairly high and most can't compete with my favorites but I'm so excited to say that this book soared above and is absolutely brilliant!

Tessa Dawn is a phenomenal writer. Her storyline is unique, exclusive and the great, descriptive detail of the vampires history was truly fascinat...more

"In many Urban Fantasy novels, the characters typically roll with the punches (whether they’re facing demons, witches or vampires). Jocelyn—our leading lady—is devastated by the things that happen around her and to her. And so was I...I’m sure I’ve made myself clear but just in case you wanted to skip to the good part: Dawn draws a scene of absolute war with the same “holy sh!t” factor that she uses in a love scene. With detail, with passion, with absolute honesty.

And it’s hot. I give it an A. A...more
