This one is actually getting 1.5 stars NOT 2-- THAT'S how much I loath you Kelsey Hayes-- you can take your dumb "love-plant" and SHOVE IT.

The Tiger's Curse sounds like such an interesting book. From reading the blurb alone I could tell there was going to be action, adventure, magic, and shape-shifting. Going by a lot of reviews, it also seemed really good...

Okay, I just cannot be bothered to write a long review for this book. I can barely be bothered to write a review at all. The writing was terrible and the pacing painful from beginning to end, but the characters weren't a total waste (well, until Kelsey suddenly and inexplicably decided to be stupid and push Ren away. You know, I was sort of enjoying watching the slow build of her relationship with him and it was kind of sweet, and then - what the fuck, girl, is all I really have to say) even if...more

If you are looking for a good YA paranormal romance series, look no further. SERIOUSLY. You will read, re-read, and then read some more ... until your entire life, lives, breaths, screams, TIGER, and your family threatens to have you committed. Just start collecting everything Tiger now, and save yourself some time. :)
Now that I've got that out of the way, lets start with the review.

I had a high hope. A very high hope. As high as Charlie Sheen on crack.

Yup, you got the idea.
I like how the overall concept based on an Indian myth. Hmpphh...I just like stories from India in general. I can watch Hindi movies without subtitles.
I kid you not.
I like cats. Tiger, leopard, cheetah, puma, they are ALL cats to me. I'll risk my life just to pat their heads.

Warning: I had a terrible pit-in-my-stomach feeling that I would loathe this book. . .but it pleasantly surprised me. Very few books can do that, you know. (Camille is one of the odd exceptions.) Now I can add Tiger's Curse to the privileged list of 'Made Jillian Eat Up Her Words and Admit She DID Like It.' And I'm not ashamed of it.
What I AM ashamed of, however, are the first one hundred pages of this book. I can see why people stop reading and give up on the book before the one hundred page ma...more

There are very few books that leave me feeling the way this did! There's that saying that, 'you may forget what someone did or said, but you will never forget the WAY they made you FEEL'....Well, that's the way this series is for me. There may be some annoyances I have with it, such as the long explainations Mr. Kaddam always gives Kelsey about the myths, ect., and the Golden Fruit that can magically produce any kind of beverage or food for you, and the Divine Scarf that can make any type of clo...more
Colleen Houck's Tiger's Curse took me on a life changing and spell binding trip to India for under $20. Never had I felt so emotionally attached to characters before. And how can anyone forget the passionate romance brewing between our lovely Kelsey Hayes and her handsome prince Dhiren...and his younger brother Kishan? It seems Miss Kelsey is to...more

I knew basically nothing about Tiger's Curse before I started it, and I think that really added a lot to the experience. Therefore I'm not going to go into detail when it comes to the story, as I don't want to ruin this for anybody in any way!

I initially NEVER planned to read this book. I dunno, something about it just didn't capture my interest. After hearing about the hype around this series, and the fact that it's fantasy and has some great adventure and romance, I decided to give it a try. I mean, I just love a good fantasy/adventure novel.

THIS BOOK IS SO BAD IT ACTUALLY MADE ME HATE TIGERS.
I can't say this really captured my attention. In all honesty I couldn't wait for it to be finished.
I realize this is a young adult book, but I feel like the writing is rather juvenile. There are a lot of descriptions that don't need to be in there. Some of it was beautiful and the Indian mythology was interesting, but there was dialogue and events that could have been scrapped. There were things mentioned that I thought must have only been in there because it was going to come up later, and th...more

Ahem.

WHHHY Kelsey! Even after (view spoiler)
Other than that, I loved the book.
Přesto tuhle knihu táhne dál především její jinakost a nové - zajímavé - prostředí. Kolik YA titulů se taky odehrává...more
I loved this book, it was so captivating and breathtaking, I couldn't take my eyes off it. It will entrance you after the first page. The story is about 2 brothers- princes, Ren and Kishan. It is a long story story but basically they have been cursed and now live as tigers and only get 24 minuets a day to spend as a human. It is mostly based around Ren and Kelsey. Kelsey is just a normal girl who's parents tragically died and is living in a foster home, she leads a normal teenage girls life but...more

I dont usually include a summary in my reviews, but the summary on Goodreads is very vague, as is the summary on the book cover. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I read this, although I did end up loving it.

This book is my newest obsession in YA. I came across this book very recently and I didn't think I'd get into it very much. But this series is so damn amazing that I can't turn back! As soon as I started, I could hardly make myself stop! I devoured this book off the bat and even before I was finished, I had to buy the second and third book immediately.

Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck encompasses all of the elements for a successful book – a witty plot, engaging characters, and a perplexity of an ending that just feeds your desire to want more. The progression of the plot will have readers entirely attracted to Kelsey’s remarkable story and her pursuit to end Dhiren and Kishan’s curse of being turned into tigers. The story of their curse is truly intriguing. Colleen has done extensive research of the Indian culture which is evident from her rich...more
