I read this book in around 3 hours stopping here and there whilst ill in bed today - picked it up by chance after vaguely remembering hearing about this when I was in junior school. Being Welsh, I liked the background/extra information on Welsh history and the tale itself was easy to read - I thought more would have been made of the spiritual side of the story and of the theories at the end but suppose its not difficult to make own judgement about what happened - a sad poignant true story

This was a fascinating little book - the one I read was small pink hardback which looked like it would be full of fairy stories - about a girl I'd never even heard of. The author presented the story in a way in which all the evidence was laid out, but the reader was allowed to decide - did she deceieve everyone? Were her parents in on it? Why did she do it? My only complaint is that I felt this book could have been condensed into 100 pages rather than 150 as a lot of the information was general ...more
