I thought that I was a mainly visual learner but after reading this book I realized I am actually auditory. I learn by talking about what I've read or writing about it. Otherwise I don't remember it or I will procrastinate on a project. I work well in groups or with a study partner. This book breaks it down so you understand why students "hate" school. The interesting thing though, is that students wouldn't hate school if teachers and parents would take the time to understand what is going through their child's head. Each and every one of us has a way in which we learn something. What we have to do is find out what type of learners we have and use that to teach our students. I found this book interesting because it talked about environment and the impact it can have on a child's ability to learn. I had never given much thought to things like light, temperature, or snacking while learning and how it could impact how well kids learn. Some good insights came from this book.

Great insights. But it seems more geared toward teachers. I'd love more practical advice for parents, especially where teachers aren't accommodating to a child's unique learning needs.
