This book is timeless. I discovered Emmet Fox a few years ago and have totally enjoyed his message and spiritual guidance in these daily readings. They are simple and profound all at once. Each reminder captures the essence of who and what we are, in the vast scheme of things, and the Point (with a capital P).

Fox was a spiritual leader who had millions of followers in his heyday (20s? 30s?) and was one of the founders of the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous. His teachings are Christian based,

Once belonging to my former significant other, I snagged ‘Make your Life Worthwhile’ off the shelf when I parted ways after he relapsed on drink & drugs with 15 years of AA to his credit. Shortly thereafter, a listening friend suggested I read Emmet Fox. Thus, I unpacked the book and the first essay I read was ‘Hobo, Cash That Bill.’
Page upon page, the words of this incredible author born in 1886 were as intriguing as he once I began reconnecting with what I had already believed.

A wise person will get out of the box and seek to learn something from every person he might come in contact with. We should seek to find the good in all things and take the good and leave out what might not be so good. This book has taught me to shift my attention to the Lord in the midst of any tough situation, invoke the name of the Lord and and strife will cease right away. Lord, I am aware of your Divine Presence in my life and all around me. I acknowledge your Power. You are the One in cha ...more

This daily reader sets the positive tone for my day and keeps me focused on what I can do to make my own life better.

This is a daily meditatin book . It has scriptures from the Bible. It may not be a daily reader that everyone can read but I reccomend you read something positive in the morning and maybe we can share books across religions. a friend of mine gave me a Jewish meditation book that I read often. I love reading different genre of meditation books they all talk about being loving and tolerant and helping others. The religions may be different but the Principles are the same !!!

This book is the bridge between Christianity and mysticism. It's a daily reader, built of Emmet Fox's sermons. Fox would have been thrown out of most churches I went to as a kid for being a heretic: his writings showed me that there are unicorns in the bible, that Jesus might have been a Buddhist, and that we are all going to heaven, or are there already. It swept away a lot my resentment toward religious dogma of all types.

Every couple of years I re-read this book of daily meditations. Each year I get different insights deeper insights and reinforce other insights on life, love and faith. Last year I gave this book to members of a small church community because I thought it was worth sharing.

Great explanation of spiritual principles from the teachings of Jesus and the Bible written in the fifties. Amazing overlap with Abraham-Hicks.

Haven't read anything from Emmet Fox that isn't excellent. A true contemplative and way ahead of his time for having lived in this century.

Short readings for each day of the year. I found a used original hardcover which is very very worn but the theology never gets old.
