LOVED this book, bought it at a grocery store cause I liked the title. I generally do not read romance novels because the formula of the few I read in the past (as well as the writing quality) weren't strong, but this author has made me rethink all that I thought about the genre. This book, set in Tennesee, tells the story of a woman who has lost a lot in her life and comes back home to help her grandmother. Beautifully written, the book draws you in and there's a bit of a mystery thrown in too (although I figured out pretty quickly who the villain was).
This is a romance book, but it's not full of explicit steamy stuff, and the themes running throughout of autism, losing eyesight, and losing/caring for a child are well done.
I very much enjoyed it ...more

Unlike so many writers, Susan Crandall did not emerge from the womb with a pen and paper in hand and a fully formed story in her mind. Instead, she was born with an incredible love for books. This must be genetic, because her father and now her son, both hated school, but are somehow addicted to books.
