Won this through the Goodreads Giveaways.
This was a seriously entertaining and funny book and I demolished it in one evening, it was that good. Just think of all the suave and dashing vampires you can think of from the Count himself to the Cullens in all their mesmerising glory, then think of the complete opposite and you have Nigel Mullet. A very simple book and a quick read. It managed to make me laugh out loud and I found some of the double entendre to be hilarious - a very fun book for the most part. Very easy to read and humorous.

Notes from a Totally Lame Vampire was a totally awesome, funny read that made me tear through the pages.
Nigel may look like a normal teenage boy physically but really he is an 100 year old vampire. Yeah you read me. A Vampire in England. Now Nigel is only trying to survive middle school, get the girl of his dreams, and,oh yeah, try to hide his fangs.
I ate up this book. I love books with a diary set of writing. They may look big but really they only take a day or two to read. More...

This was a light, entertaining, and very quick read, but I have to say it left me feeling a little let down. There's so much one could do with the eternally-spotty-teen theme. Unfortunately Collins and his fellow diary-novel writers (like Louise Rennison) can't seem to make a joke without overdoing it and ruining the humour. And despite Tim Collins' mockery of the protagonist via authorial style, there is something pretty shit and unbelievably depressing about being stuck as an unpop More...

Nigel Mullet is a sorry excuse for a vampire. He does not have any of the skills you're supposed to have as a vampire. He's not fast, strong or possesses any unearthly beauty, he is stuck in a fifteen-year-old boys body for the rest of his unmortal life. He's even too weak to hunt for blood so his parents have to get him his food. He is in love with a girl in his school and gets more and more frustrated that he can't confess his love to her and when other boys get closer to her than he does.

Nigel Mullet is nothing like the beautiful, sparkly vampires we've all become so accustomed to. He doesn't dazzle anyone with one smouldering look, he's not a smooth talker and he certainly doesn't possess any cool vampire abilities. He's a normal 100-year-old vampire forever trapped in a 15-year-old's body, and he's bored. Very bored. That is, until he meets Chloe - love of his life and the object of his eternal affection. Then begins a quest to make her his girlfriend, which is both hilarious

Novel bergambar tentang vampir aneh bernama Nigel. Usia 15 th (selama 85 th), bingung kan?

Diary of a Wimpy Vampire is a humorous story told, as the title suggests, in diary form. It tells the story of Nigel Mullet, a 100 year old vampire, who was transformed at the age of fifteen and his daily struggle with acne, a breaking voice and an ineptitude with girls, especially Chloe the new girl at his school.
Unlike his parents and sister, Nigel doesn't exhibite the usual vampire traits such as super speed, the ability to mezmorize people or hunt for food. Nigel is, in essence More...

Nigel is a one hundred-year-old teen vampire, who has never had a girlfriend, and who seems to have missed out on all the advantages of vampirism: he cannot mesmerize people by looking at them; he does not have super-human speed and strength; and despite having repeated high school many times, he isn't even a particularly good student. He lives with loving vampire parents and has a pesky younger vampire sister in a town in England. When a new girl, Chloe moves to town, Nigel falls in love with h

Older fans of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series will enjoy reading the first book in Tim Collins series, Notes From a Totally Lame Vampire. As I started reading the book, I have to admit I was a little nervous about how similar in style this book is to the Wimpy Kid books. But the book held my attention and I did want to finish it.

A light and quick-reading...

I've never read the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid books, so I don't know if this was a parody of those or simply written in the same vein*, but I figured this would be an Adrian Mole for a new generation. I wasn't expecting it to basically be Adrian Mole rewritten... (Only without as much wit. The first half of the book mainly consists of: "Didn't ask Chloe out today. But I will ask her out tomorrow!" SO DO IT ALREADY!!)
It wasn't laugh-out-loud funny, but I did like Nigel's lit More...

This book was a lot of fun. I never read any of the vampire genre which it riffs on, so I'm sure I missed some of the allusions, but I found it creative and quite captivating. Shout out to Kristal for loaning it to me!

This book was such a fun read. I love the quirky, sarky attitude and the doodles. I read this book in one sitting. The diary format allowed the book to flow, but you could dip in and out of it with ease.
Nigel is a typical teenage boy, who is bored, doesn't fit in at school, thinks no-one will ever love him and is embarrassed by his parents. But, Nigel is different, his family are different. They are all vampires but not the sparkly fluffy ones we are accustomed to at present, they have fan More...

Nigel is about to turn 100 and he has yet to have a girlfriend. His problem is that, although he is a vampire, he does not have super strength, preternatural speed, or hypnotizing beauty. In fact he is weaker and slower than most of his classmates, and sunlight gives him a bad case of acne. In short, he is forever trapped in the body of a geeky 15 year old boy. How will he ever be able to impress the beautiful new girl and maybe, someday, get to bite someon More...

This book was ok. That seems to be the only summary I can make. It had its funny parts and was occasionally boring. However something I'd like to point out if you're going to read this book is: read Adrian Mole first. This book is a quite obvious parody of Adrian Mole with Nigel (the vampire) reflecting Adrian with his dismal poetry attempts, worry over spots and complaints how nobody understands him. The girl he pines over resembles Pandora greatly. I'm not complaining about the parody just not

A fun read for young tweens/teens who will no doubt be amused at Nigels inability to sparkle, run a lap of the gym or get a higher grade than a C in maths despite being nearly 100 years old. Kids will empathise with his burdens - his bratty younger sister, clueless parents, school bullies and unrequited crush.
The diary format, including the obligatory bad poetry and amusing sketches, and Collins simple style makes it accessible for even the reluctant reader.
Light hearted and fun, Di More...

This book was amusing enough but I'm afraid I'm probably not the target age group. I could imagine a 12 or 13 year old boy - one who is fed up with all of the girls in his class swooning over Edward Cullen and has a warped sense of humour - finding this funny, but I'm not sure how well it would do in the female audience. It had several one-liners that made laugh out loud and I liked how Collins kicked holes in the Twilight premise - who would really want to be teenager for all eternity? - so I'l

Nigel is a 100-year-old, immortal vampire stuck in the body of an awkward 15-year-old boy. He tells his story in handwritten, illustrated diary format, ala the Wimpy Kid books. It's a quick, light read although truthfully I thought it was going to be a bit funnier than it is. Still, middle school kids (probably mostly boys) will enjoy reading about poor Nigel's endless efforts to woo Chloe, a beautiful mortal girl with whom he is infatuated. Once their relationship actually progresses from

Imagine being stuck in the same awkward pubescent state for one hundred years. He should be having girls fawning over his supernatural good looks and incredible strength and speed. Instead he breaks out in acne when he steps into the sun, is wimpy and his looks… well… leave something to be desired. He has to suffer through humiliating PE classes and the only friends he has are Goths. His vampire parents turned him and his little sister because they wanted to settle down with a little family

Very funny.
I'm giving this four stars instead of five for three reasons:
1) Nigel didn't really sound like a normal teenager (the prose was flowery), though I suppose any teenager born anywhere from 1895 to 1910 would sound that way.
2) I didn't really like Chloe, mostly because her liberalness started to irritate me. Generally because I think that most of what she said was stupid. Though I did think it was hilarious that Nigel agreed with everything she said, even though he di More...

Nigel Mullet is 14 years old going on 100. When Mum and Dad (vampires) got married, they couldn't have kids so they went to a London orphanage and turned Nigel and his sister Mavis. Now Nigel is worried because he lacks the vampire powers of mesmerism, speed, and strength. What is worse is that he lacks a girlfriend. When new student Chloe arrives, Nigel falls quickly and passionately in love with her. He writes in his new diary his feelings in atrocious and laugh-aloud poetry. He plots how to a

3.5 Ha, ha, ha. This book made me laugh. Written in a journal format, the main character has been a teen for decades (aren't we happy that our teens didn't last that long), but has never had a girlfriend. He's determined to get a girlfriend before his next birthday. Add in an annoying little sister (who will be little for eternity) and parents who think it's the 1700s and you've got a recipe for fun. Fans of Diary of a Wimpy Kid should enjoy.
