Man, I recently remembered this book that I used to read as a kid. It starts with just pictures of human and animal noses, noses of all shapes and sizes and purposes. It makes fun of some animals and people. We get every possible view of and up a nose. And a fascinating reason why a gorilla wouldn't wipe his nose and just let all the boogers dry up. And then we get to find out about other holes in the body, and how maybe some of them are different between girls and boys. Not a book that I see ge ...more

Another book in the spirit of Everyone Poops, but without the same humor or simplicity. It opens with comparisons of different people's nose holes, and proceeds to animals' nose holes (the dolphin has one on top of its head; seals and hippos can close theirs to go underwater). The content of "boogers" is described, and there's an explanation of how the nose and mouth are connected. There's a little experimentation, where children are asked to hold their nose and try to talk, and a bit of non-ess ...more

Highly informational.

Genichiro Yagyu remains one of the great minds in children's body part literature, and The Holes in Your Nose stands as his magnum opus.

This is required reading for anyone who currently has a nose.
This is a simple little book like others in the series -- kinda gross, cuz it's about bodies and bodies are disgusting of course -- with the same sort of illustrations, the same sort of straightforward statements, etc. It's a little interesting, a little educational. It does fine.

The 2.5 year old got bored with this book very quickly. But very informative with a sense of humor.

Hilarious book! I do not know if it was meant to be funny but the side comments, which are in smaller print, are funny.
The cover is clever! The front cover has two giant black circles, nose holes, surrounded by a white background, while the back cover has two small black circles, nose holes, surrounded by a red background. I thought it was a clever way to reflect on the book’s topic of how nose holes are all different.
My favorite part of the book was the last page which had a skeleton readin

I love the child-like matter of fact-ness of this book and the simple graphics. I could do without the baseball/bloody nose pages and some of the grosser asides, but the bloody nose part might be helpful for kids that have had them and what little guy (or girl) doesn't love a laugh about boogers. I think pretty much everyone has put a small object in their nose as a child (with varying consequences). This book may prevent some of those incidents and the results. By the way, my object was a bead. ...more

I`m a primary school teacher in Chile and we have all the 6 books from the collection (there are 2 more besides the ones you know: my belly buttom and my teeth) don't know why some people are so tedious about this book, demanding accuracy drawing level from a simple kind of scientific children's book...well the thing is that really works with the target audience after all...the kids loves it, me too, cause there is no need to be so picky...have fun you brainy people! ...more

I find this book very interesting and very child friendly. The only thing I didn't like was that sometimes the language made it difficult for a child listening to know what "character" on the page was "talking." Also, the pictures are very simplistic.

This is a silly book about the different kinds of noses we all have. From big people, to little people, to animals to even when you are a skeleton. Good book for science.

Somewhat interesting but make sure to read through the whole thing first or you will be shocked by the sudden change of subject matter at the end.

This was written specifically for me. It's ok to have holes in your nose, it seems. What a cute book.
