Great book about the German u-boats of WWII. Better, I think, than many that have been published since. Gives you an idea of what it must have been like in that arm of the German navy. But what I find really strange is that while I'm reading it, even though I know the Germans are the "bad guys", I'm rooting for them against the Allies. I have absolutely no sympathy for the Nazis or Hitler or Doenitz, who became the Uber-Nazi by the end of the war. But the sailors in the u-boats who volunteered t...more

this was part of an innovative illustrated series, a godsend to young history
fans. They cost $1.
