Simple Intent is an engaging legal thriller. Two legal interns stumble upon a tangled web of corruption, ambition and injustice as they investigate the case of a prisoner who claims he was wrongly convicted.
Reilly, a charming if rakish, law student intercepts the case of Ray Bentley and discovers links to a corrupt retiring cop. Reilly involves fellow intern, Sailor, and together they follow the threads that lead to the mob, the drug trade and their law firm partners. The interns' investigation
Over thirty years ago Ray Bentley was tried and convicted of murder. He lost everything…his beautiful wife, their unborn child and his freedom. Sentenced to life in prison, Ray lived with the knowledge that he was innocent and had no way to prove it.

Now, in 2010, two young legal interns – Reilly and Sailor stumble upon some information that could clear Ray and give him his freedom. However, they quickly discover this is not an easy task. In fact, it’s dangerous and their own lives become threate

As a legal thriller, 'Simple Intent' is a million miles away from the sort of novel I'd normally find myself reading. It's not that I have anything against the genre, it's just that I've never really been attracted to it. That said, I enjoyed this book. Very good first novel. Linda draws you in. Very believeable characters.

The end was a bit rushed, and I'm giving it four stars because I think she can do better.

Looking forward to reading her next book.

I loved it. Of course. Best part is that this was based on a true story told to me by a civil rights atty. SOme things you just van't make up. Well, not true. I can make up anything. That's my job.
