This series gets more and more fun to read. It's clear that Englehart has turned his skills at long-form comic writing into series novel writing. I'm really looking forward to publication of the next book!

I'm giving it three starts instead of two because I did not realize this was book #3 when I bought it (it was an impulse buy) but the story was easy enough to follow without having read the previous books. I'm not giving it more than 3 stars because I thought the narrative was dry and the scenes were set-up as if I were watching a TV series. I will give it this and that is that Englehart does a fine job of getting in to the characters' heads.

Steve Englehart's Timeless series is getting better with each book. Besides the ususal suspects, this one also features Coyote and Scorpio Rose, two comic book characters created by Englehart for Marvel's Epic line of creator-owned comics in the 1980s. Can't wait for the next volume, The Arena Man!

This was great! If you like Traveler series by Twelve Hawks, or Illuminatus Trilogy, you will love this. Rip-roaring fun adventure and magick too.
