I'm fairly new to the angel thing, but after having read and reviewed 2 other angel book before (and loving them), I jumped at the chance to read another.
The heroine is a witch who somehow calls forth an angel to seek revenge on her unfaithful ex-boyfriend. Great premise. The execution, however, left me wanting.

I was floored by the really high ratings for this book. I lived it in HS, I do not want read an adult version.
I had a major problem with this book. Like a hand grenade to kill a fly type thing. Her ex cheated on her, he didn't beat her or lock her in the crawlspace, he cheated. So what ultimately happens, an angel that is guarding hell is summoned for a little, kiss me and let's make him jealous type thing. First of all, that is so high school, and, second, any good looking guy would do for that...more

I loved Felicity's VET series so thought I would check out her Dark Angel series. Wow I'm glad I did as this is just as hot and I am not disappointed!

Heaton writes beautiful and sizzling hot love scenes that will cause you to fan yourself or jump your lover. Maybe both. The world building, dialogue and character development are weak. But for the erotica factor alone it is a great buy. The start, describing the ennui in Apollyon's life is quite poignant.

This story started out so strong with Apollyon in Hell. The way he spoke and behaved made his race and age believable. Serenity is a witch who, in her sorrow and rage at an ex, accidentally calls him from his post. He wants to serve her, and decides that she wouldn't have been able to call him, something only gods can do, if it were a normal bond they share. I love Heaton's 'Vampire Relm' which is why I decided to try her new series on angels. I also thought the cover art was artful and sexy.
It's a erotic novella so I was not expecting much but I guess I was expecting something because it was not there. Writing a novella is not an excuse to skip important details like describing the thoughts and motivations of the third character in a story when there are only 3 people. When I first started this book I wasn't sure I was going to like it but the further I went into the story the more I started liking it. I am a little bias, because she is one of my FAV's!!! But, I love how she makes you love the hero in her stories. I mean it is almost like you know the man!!! I loved the story from the jump!!! The whole fallen angel and angel thing is very new to me. And I like the way she explains; but leaves out enough so that she can draw you in. I liked it. It was short story length but it didn't leave me feeling shorted plot-wise. As an added plus, Apollyon and Serenity will be popping up in book #2. I always love when that happens.
