Official Final Fantasy VII Strategy Guide
This Squaresoft-sanctioned book on one of the most highly anticipated console games ever does not disappoint. Those who have managed to obtain a copy of the game (descriptions of rioting and fighting upon the retail release of Final Fantasy IIV sound like sheer hyperbole, but probably aren't) will find plenty of helpful clues, maps, and general game play advice. Those less...more

He! The video game world… I notice most readers look down on gamers… as the sort of hybrid that I am I’ve always wondered why… I mean they are basically a book! wait! How dare you say that a book and a game are sort of the same? OMG here we go again! Ok stupid imaginary voice inside my head… I’ma explain this to you so you can stop bugging me and let me finish my review; when reading a book you are either transported to another place… you get to see into somebody else’s mind… you see an eith...more
To be honest... there are a lot of things missing in this strategy guide. It can hardly be called a strategy guide, when one has to flip back to the bestiary so often to see the enemy's HP in a boss battle.
Not only that, but I have notes scattered throughout mine to dictate where hidden items are that Cassady didn't even mention.
And the SPOILERS. Regardless, it's pretty much well-known now that Aerith dies and all that other stuff, but when it came out back in 1997? I wou...more

Helpful in some places, but I remember finding inaccurate information in it, or things missing. If I'd ever seen a different FFVII strategy guide, I'd pick it up. My sister's replaying the game now and keeps cursing this guide.

Pretty bad for a strategy guide. Sure there are the basics, but none of the details that you would actually want, and the information is all scattered, too.
I've played this game so many times that my edition has become heavily annotated with things that were left out or explained poorly.

Great guide for a genre-defining game.
This is a great strategy guide! I loved it when i first beat Final Fantasy VII and needed the extra push to find all the hidden items and summons. It gives really decent strategies and what items and materia combinations are the best. I recommend this to those either stuck in the game, those who want to find everything, or to those who collect Final Fantasy!

A timeless tour de force of life, love and giant yellow birds. Destined to the record of classic literature and to the minds and hearts of both the layman and intellectual for millennia to come.
I bought this before I even owned the game and it really helps a lot, especially with hidden items and bosses. I couldn't really do much without it if I wanted to complete everything!
