This book has been sitting in my book shelf for probably 2 years. My aunt always gives me books she had read. I think I used to use Judith Krantz in my teens/young 20's. Just from reading the back of the book, I know it's below my reading standards of today. I like to think I have moved on since then, but I would also like to get it off my shelf and get rid of it at my next book exchange or a yard sell, so here goes.
Well, I got through the book, somehow, thank goodness! Talk ab More...

Lots of California history in this book -- Why the Spanish Grants were created, how they were challenged and often broken up. A lot of this information tied in closely with the Louis L'Amour book I read last week (The Lonesome Gods). Amazing that I happened to pick up 2 very different books that were written years ago, and that both had California historical information that was so closely tied.
Reading the two books back-to-back made both better.

Not my favorite Krantz book, but a decent read. I always thought that as it was titles Dazzle it should have had more to do with photography. It seems that she dumped the Dazzle/Gabe/Phoebe/Sam storyline before it was completed to focus on the ranch. I also would've liked to see a more complete ending- Liddy's reaction for instance.

Actually this book was pretty much so-so. The glamour quotient is pretty low compared to her other books, the romances seem even more superficial than normal, and then there is all the historical stuff which seems a bit out of place in this book. Ok to read if nothing else is at hand.

Grabbed this from the book exchange shelf at work when I had nothing to read at lunch. Awesome 90's cheeseball novel full of sex scenes and tacky characters. Excellent dreck!

I think this one was my favorite. Of course, I haven't read anything by Krantz in about 15 years. Something tells me I should keep it that way!

One of those mindless books I read when I'm too busy to focus on quality literature.

I had forgotten my book and needed something to read on public transport to and from work. This book was left in the teacher's lounge and so I took it. It is a OK read when you just need something and don't want to think. I found the characters flat and unbelieveable. Not on my recommended book list.

In the 80s this type of reading was exciting because it featured strong women doing what they wanted with their lives with a lot of money, glitzy clothes and SEX thrown in. It was hot stuff for its time.
