Wow this one annoyed me. Most Junie B. does. But I believe this is the first one I read (heard) from cover to cover. The voices of the narrator fit a 5 year old. And it's not that I found the characters annoying. They had their cute points. I just don't like how these books are written. Yes I know most Kindergartners don't speak well at that age, but it bugs me to have it in a book. How are we to teach children correct grammar if its incorrect in the books? One reason my editing professor said I More...

Junie B. and her friend Grace were waiting for their friend Lucille before school bevcause they were waiting for her to play horses with them. They didn't see her anywhere until they spotted her being chased by a new evil boy. Junie B. and Grace chased that boy and shooed him away, in that moment Lucille told them that he was not an evil boy, his name was Warren and he was very handsome, Junie B. and Grace looked at him and wanted him to be their boyfriend. Lucille got very mad at them and went More...

Delightful! My 7-year-old daughter told me I HAD to read this book because it was SO funny. I've never read a Junie B. Jones book before, and I wasn't hopeful. But I thought it was hilarious and charming.

I was shocked that Junie B. Jones is a believable narrator.

I'm convinced that anyone who doesn't like these books doesn't have any kids.

There's a new boy in kindergarten named Warren. Junie B. and her two best friends Lucille and Grace all want him to be their boyfriend.

My niece who is 6 took this book out in French last week (she is in French immersion). And so she wanted to read the English version this week.

It was a little bit silly that all three girls decided they loved Warren. My niece is in grade 1 and her friends (and her) don't really even like boys.

As usual there are a lo More...

I would give two and a half stars to this book.
I would say that "Junie B. Jones Loves Handsome Warren" is not as humorous as most of the other books in the series, but there definitely are a few funny parts to it, and Barbara Park tells the story very well, including some really nice interaction between Junie B. and Warren. There are some teachable moments that come up as well, moments that the author uses very nicely to instruct readers of any age on just what it means to be a More...

While as an adult I found it highly annoying to read this book I think I can understand why some children would like to read it. Junie B. Jones does some things children would think are hilarious. I'm sure some kindergarteners have horrible grammar like Junie B. Jones and I know Barbara park wrote the book that way on purpose but as an adult I found it to be an odd juxtaposition of funny and downright annoying. Looking beyond that I did laugh as Junie B. Jones tries to get Handsome Warren to More...

I have never read a Junie B. Jones book before and I actually have very mixed feelings about it.

1st off, I am confused about Junie's intellect. In the narration, she sometimes sounds very baby-ish and can't even put together sentences correctly; however, she also, at times, sounds too old by using phrases like "darn it," "a crack at him," and "moving on." I couldn't tell from the story who Junie was.

However, I am always a big fan of books More...

This was a vey good book and Junie B. wanted a boyfriend so, she tries to become friends with Warren,he's the cute boy in room eight. She tries to be herself and her mom tells her that a being friend means that you be yourself and try not to be like someone else. Also, Junie's mom tells her that being friends means that she needs to care about the other person's feelings. I'm not telling about the ending in case some people have not read this book. But, I will say that the ending is very happy More...

I bought the complete set of Junie B Jones for my niece at Christmas. I picked up “Junie B Jones Loves Handsome Warren” and read it through last night. What a delight! This is a popular set with the kids and I can see why. It was funny and fun. Junie learns that just being herself is the best approach to meet friends. I would recommend it for beginning readers and any adult who will be reading to pre-readers. It will keep you entertained as well as the little ones. I think I’ll be reading m More...

I thought this was good book. This book is about Junie B. "falling in love" with a new kid that came to there school. Junie B. thought this kid was so cute and Junie B's best friend Luccile was dating him! She knew that she could never get Warren cuz he only loved Luccile. But all she wanted was to meet Warren but Luccile was afraid of Junie B. stealing him from her. This is a book full of drama!

I think that this is a very well written book. I believe that children will enjoy this book because it is funny and the writing is mainly Junie B. talking. There is a lot of dialogue between her friends and her. One aspect that I don't like about the book is that Junie B. tries to change herself for a boy, but in the end she is herself and he likes her for who she is.

This story in the Junie B. Jones series is about young love. Kindergarten love, to be specific, which in this case is more about competition among friends than any truly amorous feelings. I wasn't sure if I wanted to read a story about girls chasing boys in kindergarten, but it had an interesting perspective and we talked about how children are too young for love at that age.

A handsome new boy named Warren comes to school and both Junie B. and her friend Lucille want to be his girlfriend. They both vie for his affections but, Warren thinks Junie B is a "nutball". This book is a fun read for children and it shows the importance of being yourself and not changing who you are to gain another person's affections.

this book is very funny because she never gives up on one thing that is she does not want to give up on trying to get a new boy at school to fall in love with her because he is after Lucille, Junie's best friend, then her other best friend which she calls 'That Grace' likes him too and since Lucille is very rich she dresses very fancy, but 'That Grace' runs really fast so then she gets new shoes to have a race with Warren. Junie b. wants to look like a princess so then she will get warren. she a More...

Quick read in the Junie B. Jones series. My daughter liked it. Junie B. has her usual "graces" but not my favorite book. I do like the message about just being yourself around others.

Emily (6 1/2 years old): I liked when they were fighting because the girls were fighting over the boy. It was funny.

Oh, Junie B. may not be the most gifted orator of our times but she is fun to read. This story was about kindergaren puppy-love and how Junie B. is perplexed how to make (poor) Warren notice her. Kids will laugh at her over-the-top behaviors but the message about being yourself is sweet and not forced.

Just 'cause she couldn't stop laughing and rolling. So how is she supposed to get that boy to love her?

I was reading this book with a group of 2nd graders while doing observation house and they absolutely loved it! They found parts humorous and admired the character. This book has a good lesson in and that is you should just be yourself! I think all young girls can relate to this book.

I first discovered Junie B. Jones about 7 years ago--2 years before I became an elementary school Media Specialist. After I read one, I checked them all out from the local library or bought them at Barnes & Noble.

My mom, my sisters, and their families came to our house for Christmas that year, and I will never forget sitting around the dining room table, reading Junie B. aloud. One of us would read until she was laughing so hard she couldn't continue, then another would take over. T More...

How can you not love a book that has these lines in it;

"My other friend is named Grace. Me and that Grace ride the school bus together.
She has my favorite kind of hair. It is called automatically curly."

I adore Junie B.!

I thought that this was another very cute book about Junie B. Jones. Any age from kindergarten to second grade can identify with the feeling of vulnerability in the classroom and growing up. I would definitely use this book as well in the classroom!
