If you are a fan of The Great Food Truck Race on The Food Network, the you will probably love this book. It highlights the rise of the food truck phenomenon as gourmet cuisine and features food trucks and the stories behind them, from all over the United States, along with some of their recipes. Some of the food trucks featured whose vittles look very appealing are: Curry Up Now and Sam's Chowdermobile, both in San Francisco, California; East Side King in Austin, Texas (and their Thai Chicken Ke...more
The information is interesting as to the genesis of the food truck craze and about those trucks which are listed, but is woefully short on recipes. Also, given that Southern California is where the taco trucks began (well-covered) and then exploded into the current gourmet/specialty food truck craze, I was surprised and disappointed to have so few of the popular Southern California trucks listed, and then, only those from Los Angeles county.

This is a good book to read about food trucks in different cities of the USA. It has a few recipes in it. I was hoping for more, hence the 3 stars. I was wavering between 3 and 4 as it is a good book. I went for 3 because I purchased it for the recipes. It is interesting and gave me some ideas for experiments. I am amazed by the amount of different food being sold off of trucks as well the "upscale" changes to them.
I really liked this book! My full review is at my blog M&Y the Baking Book Bunny.
