If you are a fan of The Great Food Truck Race on The Food Network, the you will probably love this book. It highlights the rise of the food truck phenomenon as gourmet cuisine and features food trucks and the stories behind them, from all over the United States, along with some of their recipes. Some of the food trucks featured whose vittles look very appealing are: Curry Up Now and Sam's Chowdermobile, both in San Francisco, California; East Side King in Austin, Texas (and their Thai Chicken Ke...more

Good looking, great stories, and photos that make you salivate. My only complaint is that some of the "side dishes" -- little stories in the margins -- seemed like they would have been way more interesting as full-length write-ups than some of the ones Shouse chose to make full-length.

Awesome for my daughter who goes to college in Philly. Finding out all the vegan/vegetarian as well as different types (Middle Eastern/Indian) of food trucks in the city for her!
Amy
Just interesting to see the food trucks around the country, and get a sampling of some of their recipes.
Julia
A fun combination of recipes, food reviews and commentary on food trucks across the US.

The information is interesting as to the genesis of the food truck craze and about those trucks which are listed, but is woefully short on recipes. Also, given that Southern California is where the taco trucks began (well-covered) and then exploded into the current gourmet/specialty food truck craze, I was surprised and disappointed to have so few of the popular Southern California trucks listed, and then, only those from Los Angeles county.

This is a wonderful book about the food truck craze hitting the states these days. Also includes a lot of great recipes.

This is a good book to read about food trucks in different cities of the USA. It has a few recipes in it. I was hoping for more, hence the 3 stars. I was wavering between 3 and 4 as it is a good book. I went for 3 because I purchased it for the recipes. It is interesting and gave me some ideas for experiments. I am amazed by the amount of different food being sold off of trucks as well the "upscale" changes to them.

Interesting information. Fun recipes. Some made me want to eat the page they were written on. How do some people come up with these combinations? Really quite fascinating. The only bad part is that there are no good food trucks where I live. Oh, how I miss the streets of NYC!
