Adder's Bite has a gripping storyline that will keep readers turning the pages. The characters are sympathetic and will appeal especially to teen readers. I'm very impressed with Van Auken's dedication to her craft and bringing all the elements of myth and magic together into a recognizable journey. I'm looking forward to more from this author as her characters have set the stage for a sequel that will bring this tale to a satisfying conclusion.
