Again, did the audiobook. Not bad; not great. I guess after Power of Now it was hard to impress me. His insights, voice, and suggestions are helpful though. I think I just wasn't in the mood and didn't find it as useful as Power of Now. It is not, however, a waste of time. If you like to meditate and reflect but haven't found much success with it, then I suggest this as a means to help.

Everyone should read this book. I wish I had money to buy it. But, it is from the library. This book jumped off the shelf and it was meant for me to read this bad boy! So just read a sentence and set the book down and then pick it up again. It has some very wise words to ponder in your life. I need to read this book about 40 more times and I would enjoy it every time.

Another great read by Eckhart Tolle. A good tool for realizing how important it is to learn to be still and live in the now, and how the conversations/thoughts taking place in our minds can interrupt the natural flow of happiness that awaits us. Love it! :-)

Like Tolle's other books, this has the insight you expect and the tools are in how you use what has been printed on the pages. He makes it very clear that there is no magic in words and they've all been derived from various teachings including those of Jesus and Budda. The book is set up as short statements or paragraphs with a specific theme, not chapters in a book that you would read through. He expects you to stop reading and think about each one. Although a short book in length, the less...more

This is a beautiful, deep read that has permanent fixture status on my nightstand. It reads like "prose" and although small, takes energy to absorb. Brilliant little book.

Meditations that work well in tandem with the words of Tolle in The Power of Now. Great to keep on a nightstand to use for meditations or affirmation.

This is a unique book with paragraphs or sentences of wisdom and stillness. It is not a cover-to-cover read.

great refresher. One to keep by the bedside and open to random passages to meditate on every so often.

After reading The Power of Now and New Earth, I wanted to read this one to complete all of Tolle's books. Some readers say if you have read the Power of Now, you don't necessarily need to read this one. However, the way I see it, this small book is another tool that guides towards more inner peace and helps solidify "the way back home".

I liked this book because of the small, easily digestable insights, some of which stayed with me (and many of which, alas, did not). I'm not wild about the format, as I find little chunks of text not particuarly readable, but they were a good collection of thoughts to post around a room, or keep on the first page of a journal to remind me of simple things (like breathing) that I forget to do.

I first read this book a couple of years ago but just recently listened to a recording of it read by the author. As much as I love the written word and the tactile experience of a good old fashioned hardcover book, Eckhart Tolle is at his best when heard in his own voice, not just words on a page.

Readers who liked The Power of Now and A New Earth
This book is a collection of short, insightful entries that concisely render the essence of Tolle's teachings. I have listened to the audio version several times but recently decided I needed to have the 'transcript' as part of my library, and of course, to read and reread.

This book contains the essence of Tolle's teachings in short, simple pieces that can be easily understood--full of timely and powerful messages. It is easy to grab from time to time for a "refresher." It is only 127 pages and a nice nightstand/end table book to have around.

It does not get more powerful than stillness. This book is easy to digest, practical to follow and will help anyone. It certainly saved me from myself. :)
Powerful beyond belief. I keep this book along with the Practicing The Power of NOW near me.

Great quick read covering many of Tolle's points in Power of Now and New Earth. The book is compact and concise. So, if you can't get into hundreds of pages of heavy reading material, try this. Or, if you just want a handy refresher for bedside or travel.

Of course I love this book...It's Eckhart Tolle AND it's published by my beloved New World Library. Every phrase has profound wisdom and can be savored over and over again. And it's perfect for those who struggle with mind chatter...who doesn't?
