This big catalog accompanied a big exhibition of Deacon's work in Hannover. Those Germans really know how to publish a catalog. A generous selection of images include both the works in the show and archival material from the artist's life and career. Of the five critical essays, only a couple are jargonistic and impenetrable. Best of all are Deacon's own writings, beginning with diaries and instructions for performances done in art school in 1970.
