i saw the movie and i read the book! so good. it's a girl named chris who is a run away youth. i don't don't blame her her father is very abusive and all her mother does is sit in the couch and watch tv smoking! so she is in prison (sorta) juvinial detention center 4 girls. the movie is awesome too! linda bliar is an amazing actress. the one i did not like about the book is that there is a "rape" part. and that is how far i went.
I read this book when I was about 15 or 16 years old..I know! what the heck was I thinking" but in my defense I have never been your average reader..I like different and this strory captivate me at a young age...This is one fo the books the make a before and after on my reading selections
