A Dead Man's Secret (Sir Geoffrey Mappestone Mysteries) by Simon Beaufort

Simon Beaufort is a collaboration of the two writers, Susanna Gregory and Beau Riffenburgh.

I really enjoy Susanna Gregory's stand alone work and I thoroughly enjoy the Simon Beaufort short stories in the Medieval Murderers collections ...

This is a very entertaining novelwritten by Susanna Gregory under the name of Simon Beaufort. Like the other books in the series the main character is Sir Geoffrey Mappestone ex-crusader and sleuth.
There are the usual murders and mysteries, weird characters and humour. In this book the plot is possibly a bit thinner than in the others that I have read, but I still rate it above average, and a good read.

Shelves: mystery
A very decent mystery set in the early reign of Henry I. Layers upon layers of mystery intertwine--everyone had hidden motives except for the main character just trying to deliver his letters.
