I could not stop reading this book!! I love that the women in the book were older and VERY MATURE. I especially loved how much she talked about SAINT LOUIS!!!! :) I could picture all the places that she was writing about. I can't wait to read it again!

This is my first time to read an African-American literature. And the first thing that I noticed is the womanly energy that comes with it. I haven't read a lot of African-American lit so
First time reading this author and I was not dissapointed. I bought it for a $1 at my local library. It has some great values and lessons. At first I disagreed with the main character's reasoning for her decision but once I read more, I realized why she thought the way she did about certain things. I guess you can say that it teaches you to open your eyes to things that you may think you know all about. Everything is not what it seems.
This book gives me an idea of a fear of marriage, which I have had some conflict with and what it really means. However, having read the book, I definitely have a change of heart.
