Out of the frying pan...
Circumstances had changed; they had gotten worse. Valoree no longer had to masquerade as her murdered brother and scourge the oceans as Captain Red. She no longer had to command his pirate band in a quest to regain his birthright. She had been named heir to Ainsly Castle. But no executor would ever hand over the estate to an unmarried pirate wench a...more

As far as crappy romance novels go, this one beats them all.
Now, I won't say that this book 'isn't what it looks like'. It absolutely is. It's an over-the-top romance novel with vaguely stereotyped characters - a pirate captain who'd been posing as a man for a while but turns out to actually be a noble, and a posh lord who finds himself in her way.
Why is it so fantastic, then? Because of the humor. That's the big secret. Lady Pirate is a crappy romance novel, but manages to not be crappy because...more

After going to paranormal, fifty shades, type of books, i went back to the historical romances that made me the romance junky that i am. This book has a woman that has the weight of the world on her shoulders and her reluctance to seek help or comfort. Then you have her equal in every way use every weapon that he can to break down the walls she has created to claim her as his own and in return learns to sit back and relinquish some control back to his wife to keep the spirited lass he fell for....more

Captain Valoree Ainsley wants to give up privateering, claim her inheritance, and provide a home for her crew on her English estate. However, there is a catch. She must be married to a nobleman and have a child or be expecting one by her 25th birthday to inherit. Lord Daniel Thurborne must marry in order to claim his inheritance from his grandmother; much needed to improve his estate. Valoree wants a husband she can control and Daniel suspects there is something fishy about this “Lady” with a mo...more

Oh this is great.
Though Val's stubborness are as admiring as irritating, Daniel's charmed her until she gave in.
Yes i can say that it's a bit chicklit but the funny scenes are amazing. Especially the battle of words between the Hero and Heroine. I would recomment this book, its a experience worthed!
I really wish i could finish it in a day but because of my busy sched i cost me 3 days to finish it.
Definitely going to be on my to-be-re-read someday this year!

i noticed in the library description that they call this type of book a leisure book. That pretty well says it. It was a very relaxing read. Just the sort of thing i like to sprinkle in here and there to keep from becoming too maudlin or morbid, or any of the other things my taste in literature might lend itself to.

I really tried to like it. Honest. Maybe I'm not in the mood for a quirky historical romance about a pirate and a lord, but I seriously had difficulty staying focused on the story. The characters were likable and the story line is really cute, but there was something about it that made me not stay hooked. I might try to read this again later.
So far, I love it. Lynsay Sands has done it again. A love story that is simple but the characters make the mistakes of messing up their love lives. Ah, it's refreshing from the bubble-gum teen love stories that are rotting the television. Secert Life of blah blah blah. They haven't a clue about real life drama.

nope. not going to finish it. Granted that it's really well written and full of humor, but I just do NOT want to read anymore immorall books. I can't understand why I even picked it up.
This was a cute book and an amusing read but the lady's stubbornness got to be much. Otherwise it was a fast paced comical read.

I really can't put a finger on why I love this book, but I do.
Ahahaha! Great cast of characters! What a hoot!
I liked this book. At first I had a lot of doubts about the how the whole pirate thing would work, but was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. I liked even more that once they got on the ship, the couple had to fix their relationship problems. I liked how it ended at an appropriate spot and not right after the wedding type scene.

This book is very good, it's also quite funny when you try to picture the rough pirates trying to pass as fancy servants! It really made me laugh out load sometimes!
