I received a hardback copy of Logic of Demons from H.A. Goodman, the author, for review. I was happy to take a look at this novel because from the description, it sounded like something a little different from what I've been reading lately and it definitely caught my interest. I honestly didn't care much for the book cover, however, the book within was definitely worth reading.

What would you do if someone raped and murdered your pregnant wife? Could you forgive and go on with your life? What if this person was a serial killer who had already killed several pregnant women and was probably going to do it again? Would your very being seethe with anger and scream for justice?

Devin Schwartz was faced with such a quandary. His childhood sweetheart and the couple’s unborn child were savagely murdered. Unable to face the pain, Devin hunted down the killer and cold bloodedly...more

Logic of Demons is definitely one of the most interesting and to put it mildy: weird books that I've read in a while. It deals with the idea of what's right and wrong and whether an eye for an eye is seen as okay in "God's" eyes. It's the idea of who gets to play God. Is it alright for me to be a murderer if I'm only killing other murderers? In this novel, there are arguments for both sides, and they're all actually quite convincing.

You know that image that everyone has when deciding to do some...more

This book was amazingly, surprisingly, and shockingly awesome! I've got to be honest - I wasn't excepting to like it. I find that lately, every time I receive a book for review from an author that's been published by an unknown publishing company, I'm disappointed. It had almost gotten to the point in which I felt like it must be an editor that makes a book good and not an author. Alas, not the case with Logic of Demons.

I was immediately gripped, pulled into the world of Devin Schwartz, horrifie...more

I think I should describe Logic of Demons as 'unexpected'. It started off with Devin mourning his wife, Bridget's terrible death. She was raped and killed by a serial killer caller Earl Gray. He wanted to seek revenge, and for a moment he considered calling off his idea, but finally decided to preserve justice in his own way - by killing the murderer with his own hands. Little did he know that his actions will lead to some unimaginable consequences in the afterworld - with him at the very center...more

Now, instead of finding himself reunited with his wife and unborn child in the afterlife, Devin is enlisted in the service of The Company, selling a Formula to innocent souls–an endeavor that result...more

If you read my blog frequently you can tell that I adore paranormal books. I cannot get enough of them. So when the writer asked me if I wanted to read and review Logic of Demons I immediately said ‘Yes, I accept’. And I am glad I did, because it delivered!

Devin is the main character of this story. He has to deal with a terrible loss and he’s feeling guilty. He’s also very naïve and doesn’t think things trough. His mind is fixated on locating his wife and can’t see the trouble he’s getting himse...more

I received this book from the author after he had approached me by email requesting a review. I knew this book wouldn't be my normal cup of tea, but since I'm an author as well, and I know how hard it is to get the word of your work out there, and I wanted to see if I could help out. I believe that every author deserves the chance to have their work exposed to the public so that readers can have the opportunity to form their opinion of it.

Logic of Demons was different from anything else I've eve...more

Logic of Demons tells the tale of Devin Schwartz, a man who just lost his wife and unborn child to a horrible death. Taking things into his own hands, Devin takes revenge by killing the murderer. Unknowing to Devin, this act of violence sends him into an adventure of a lifetime.

Logic of Demons is a very deep book. It takes religion and morals into great consideration. A reoccurring question that came up was if Devin was correct in avenging his wife's death. Is "an eye for an eye" the right way t...more

To be completely honest, Logic of Demons felt like it was written for no other purpose than to convey a message to its readers. While this is usually a fine motive, Logic of Demons was written in an overly simplistic, flat manner, which made for a very dry read.

The way in which H.A. Goodman presents his messages to the reader is so blatant that the whole book feels a bit preachy. You can barely turn a page without being told that humans have no right to judge whether or not someone deserves to d...more

When I was first approached by the author to do a review for Logic of Demons, I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to read it. It sounded good, but the back synopsis almost made it sound like there was entirely too much going on for such a short book, but I’m really glad that I did get the chance to read/review Logic of Demons and surpassed my expectation by a lot.

One of the things I really enjoyed about Logic of Demons was how the Devin, who was the narrator for the majority of the book, had to come...more

Although this book is about a lot of heavier topics, I found it to be an easy and enjoyable read. The story revolves a lot around choices and consequences, which not only gives us more insight into the book but also into our own characters as well.

While we're on the subject of characters, there is an entire cast of them that make up Logic of Demons - everyone of them important to the story. I liked Devin as a character. Though I became a little annoyed with his actions and choices at times becau...more

There are several things I would like to criticize about this book. The first one of course the main character, Devin was too naive and never uses his brain; perhaps it was because he lost Bridget but it makes me wondering how dependent he was to her when she still alive. I think Bridget did all the thinking for him *wink*.
The second is there were too many dialogs and too many explanation; for example when Nadine’s friends appreciated her works, everyone had their share of dialogs which basicall...more

Choices, choices. Life is full of choices. What can I say other than this book was great! I love how well everything was describe in detail. The feelings, the raw emotions that Devin went through, only seemed to break my heart.

Devin has been through hell. He's done everything right in his life, yet nothing went well with his. After his wife is brutally murdered, Devin is faced with the voice of the accuser. You know, the one that tells you its all your fault. The one that says what you shouldn't...more

Logic of Demons is refreshing in the fact that this novel is new and different. It has such a unique storyline and such a great message, that is should not be missed.

This novel takes you on a profound journey, with surprising twists. Some I saw coming, but wow the ones I did not made this a even better story. I enjoy books that take me by surprise and I appreciate it when I can pick up a book that exposes me to a entirely new and riveting tale.

This book provides a unique storyline that I have not read before in another book. The Author does a great job at providing many twist and turns. I did feel lost or like I didn't read something correctly at times, but it sort of works out towards the end. My connection with the characters were there at times and but then I would loose it. What I did like was the struggle between good and evil. This books has Demons and Angels. Devin is the main characters and his story does break your heart. The...more

Logic of Demons was an interesting exploration in all things religious and in this aspect, was a fascinating read. I enjoyed the main character's journey through Hell and back, learning the story of some of the other characters and the ending was certainly surprising. However, there were definitely aspects that didn't work for me.

Devon's journey was definitely one full of twists and turns. I was drawn into his plight from the beginning and wanted to know why and how his wife was ripped from him....more

Logic of Demons: The Quest for Nadine’s Soul is written from Devin’s point of view. Devin is the protagonist of the novel, and the story begins with his pregnant wife having just been raped and murdered. Holding on to the memories he shared and the thoughts of what his wife had to endure the last few moments of her life, Devin is faced with a dilemma. He can choose to let it go, or get revenge. His concerned father-in-law begs Devin not to do anything irrational, but having his thoughts filled w...more

Devin saw his life turning upside down when his pregnant wife was raped and murdered. He wanted revenge and in a desperate act, he did it by himself: he killed the man who ruined his life. If you think this is tough, just wait until the end of Logic of Demons: The Quest for Nadine’s Soul.

Now Devin is dead and forced to work for The Office, selling The Formula—at first, he had no idea what it was, but soon he realize...more

I really enjoyed the premise of this book. There are sociological, religious, and political themes. The story revolves around justice, the human condition and free will, how the choices we make always have consequences. Great concepts to be explored, for sure.

I received a free copy of this novel from the author but this in no way influenced my review. As always I will give an honest review of the novel. I was in no way compensated for the review. I'm sorry, but reading the synopsis of this book would make me not want to read it. It makes it sound boring, religious and preachy. It isn't that way at all!

I really didn't know what to expect when I read the letter that came with the book from the author. He seemed to be concerned about the graphic things...more

Well, I definitely enjoyed this book thoroughly! Logic of Demons is just the right book for me when I was looking for something new and gripping. It takes you on a crazy, fantasy ride with interesting twists along the way.

This is such an emotional beginning, and it sets up the story well. I feel for the characters almost right away.

I am able to relate with Devin because I understand his motivations. He has good intentions even though they aren't carried out correctly. Nadine, a central character to the book, is introduced in a unique way. Her artwork helps her to express emotions, and I can relate with her sense of longing for more, and her discontent with status quo. Later characters introduces, Natalia and Jam...more
