One of the things I like best about having my little one in Catholic school is that she comes home and tells me how they celebrated a saint's feast day, or a Holy Day of Obligation, or Advent or Lent. Still, we all know that if it doesn't start at home it doesn't go very far. My older kids didn't go to Catholic school when they were little so I was always on the lookout for good child-friendly religious activities, especially to use during Advent and Lent.

"Chapter 1 presents a brief overview of Advent and why it is important. Chapter 2 introduces the three parts of the Advent Reclamation Project which are explained more fully in Chapters 3 through 5. Chapter 6 offers suggestions for other traditions that families or parish communities might choose to adopt as their own, and in the appendices, you will find resources to flesh out the earlier chapters."

A nice introduction to incorporating the celebration of Advent into your family's holiday traditions. Different ideas for meaningful family activties. This is written from a Catholic perspective, but it's extrememly adaptable, take what you like, leave what you don't.
