Do you like Mike Lupica as an author? Then Miracle on 49th Street is a must read for you! Mike Lupica has won many awards including a 1987 Anthony Award and had many bestselling books. I love Mike Lupica’s writing style and what he writes about portrays to teens lives. His style of writing makes it easy to understand what the point is he is trying to get across. Mike Lupica’s books always have to do with kids and sports and that’s why a lot of teens read his books. Miracle on 48th Street is abou...more

What does a little girl, a star basketball player, a deceased mother and nachos have in common? Nothing, until they were put into an exciting novel written by Mike Lupica. The novel is filled with new twists and turns, along with plenty of setting changes thanks to an adventurous girl named Molly, and she isn’t your average 12 year old girl. Her dad was never around when she was younger and now her mom has just passed away, which is a lot to handle for someone so young. But Molly has her own way...more

Molly is a girl about twelve years old. A few years ago her mom passed away because of cancer. Molly never really knew her dad because her mother never told her about him. Her mom only told her stories and her dad's name, Josh Cameron. Molly doesn't even know if she wants him in her life after she gets to know him a little. Josh never even knew that he had a kid. Molly's mother never told him. Honestly, I would never do that! Unless there were extreme circumstances.
Anyway, Molly asks Josh if he...more

The first book I read this school year was Miracle on 49th Street by Mike Lupica. One of the worst things that can happen to you as a kid is losing a parent. Twelve year old Molly Parker knows how that feels. Molly lived with her mom, Jen Parker, until her sudden death. Molly goes and lives with her moms college friend Barbara Evans who has a husband, and a daughter named Kimmy. Jen Parker left molly with lots of letters explaining that Molly's life is more complicated than it seems. In the lett...more

Mike Lupica is a terrific author of books that appeal to adolescents – especially boys! Right now I’m reading Miracle on 49th Street, which is a little different than some of his other titles that I’ve read, but I like it just as much. The main character in this book is 12-year-old girl named Molly. Molly’s mom recently died, but before she died she explained to Molly that her dad is a guy named Josh Cameron. Josh Cameron happens to be MVP of the Boston Celtics and probably the most beloved and...more

Title is kinda misleading, but I enjoyed it! The ending made me tear up a little and I loved Matties sassy ways. Molly was sassy sarcastic and I liked her too. I actually had some L.O.L moments! Sam was a great character in this story.I think her feelings when she realized that Barbara and her mom were right could have been developed a little more though. At times I felt like yelling at the guy who tried to pass as a human being,(Josh) but by 3/4 ways I felt that Mike Lupica would have to give h...more

I think this book shows a huge factor of change. It is a mountain plot arch. It starts with molly talking to Josh then Molly showing up at his practice and it evolves from there. I think there were a few lessons shown in this book. One was that if you put your head to something you can achieve anything. I think the second lesson is that never give up, and dont shed a tear until your problem passes. This means that if you were going to do something that you knew was very risky dont break down and...more

( I read this for 4th quarter credit)

I thought that this book was a well written book. It was interesting, and pulled in the reader. There were many times I couldn't put the book down because it was so good. In this book you felt like you were in it with the characters. You learned so much about each character so it was almost like you knew them. In the end of the book it felt like I was leaving camp because I knew it would be a long time until I found a book this good again.

The book starts off f...more

Miracle on 49th Street is a great book. It's a heart touching story. The book makes you think and puts your opinion into the book. Although I don't think the tittle is appropriate the for plot of the book, I would change it. I can see where Josh is coming from not believe Molly, but I can also see how Molly is feeling not really having either parent there for her.Her mother told her that Josh is her father before she dies so I think she thinks its true and is trying find some kind of closure. I...more

Miracle On 49th Streeit is a heartwarming story about a father and his daughter. I was impressed by the way the author, Mike Lupica, built up suspense, and developed a conflict that the reader could understand, and possibly relate to. The conflict in this story is when Molly, a girl who lives in the Boston area, finds out that she is the daughter of Boston Celtic's superstar Josh Cameron. (Molly's mother and Josh were in love when they were in college, but Molly's mom recently passed away.) Unfo...more

I enjoyed this book a lot. Since I play basketball i saw this book and decided i should read it. This book kept me entertained and always wondering what would happen next. I can relate a lot to this story and how its about a girl that plays basketball. Molly moves from London to Boston, i think that would be a hard move because you're not just moving cities or states but to a whole new country. I feel bad for Molly when her mom is diagnosed with cancer and she becomes an orphan. She goes to scho...more
