I alway enjoy a good mystery and this book had just enough intrigue to keep me reading but only because I had hoped it would get better. The love story completely distracts from the mystery at hand and seems contrived for the sake of those who picked it up for the romance. The story lacked a plausible climax and I felt as if the climax was rushed and didn't really make any sense. This book would not be one I would consider worth recommending but rather a quick read until the book you really want ...more
Much more enjoyable than the first book in the series

This one was not quite as good as the first in the series, but good enough to keep me reading and good enough to make me want to read the next in the series.

I do enjoy Caroll's ability to show readers the spiritual growth of characters amid chaos and intrigue.
I read the 3rd book first and this is the 2nd in the series. I may want to read 1, 4 & 5. I enjoyed the mystery and her writing.
The mystery part of the book is well written. The romance just doesn't flow well with the story. It is worth a one time read.
