I have come to like Toni Blake a lot in the past couple of months and didn’t expect to feel much different about ‘Tempt me Tonight’. The story line is about High School sweet hearts but when Joe goes and does the unforgivable, Trish leaves town for College and doesn’t look back. Now a hot shot Lawyer, Trish returns to Eden to help out her parents in selling their little Diner. And after bumping into Joe at the local watering hole, things...more

This was my first book by Toni Blake and I must say it was a good one. I was drawn into the characters from the very beginning. Trish and Joe are high school sweethearts, but he screws up and does something bad. Trish says she never wants to see him again. Fast forward 14 years where she has to come home to help her parents with something and ends up seeing Joe again.

Blake does an excellent job of portraying the emotion between the couple. I was really rooting for Joe to win Trish back. He was s...more

The book drew me in from the beginning. I never expected to want Trish to forgive Joe, but I like the idea of high school sweethearts ending up together after such a long separation. It's a fast and interesting read. This is my first book by Toni Blake, but it won't be the last.

it was great enough for me to give it a perfect rating :) I was uhmm sort of expecting a little bit of the 'typical, as usual, common, boring type' romance with this kind of 'theme' but gladly it wasn't...entirely...let's put it this way, 'the grip' is so good that it kept me going on until I finished reading it, the build-up of the characters were great, you'll absolutely 'understand' what they feel and think, you'll feel the sincerity and the repentance in there and there were also not much of...more

I was pleasantly surprised after reading Tempt Me tonight by Toni Blake. I bought it on a whim without even looking at reviews just by the description and started reading it. Five hours later I was finished and in love with the story and characters. The story is about 18 year-old Trish and Joe, the high school sweethearts spending one last night together before Trish moves away for college. The night that was suppose to be special turned into hea...more

This is my first by Toni Blake. I liked this book and from now on, I’m keeping tabs on Toni Blake’s books. What I liked about this book is — it’s about everything. And that means the characters, the flow, the plot, the romance and the sexy scenes.

From what I’ve read, Trish and Joe’s relationship is kind of complicated. They did mention they broke up but from what I read and I felt, it’s like, they weren’t. The chemistry’s there. The passion’s shown. I know it (really) sucks when you found out yo...more

Contemporary, hot romance about young love gone bad. Trish and Joe were high school sweethearts when something happened that caused them to break-up. Fourteen years later, Trish returned to her hometown for a lengthy visit and when she bumped into Joe, the sparks ignited a fire that never went out. The way Trish went about getting "revenge" turned me right off. Then came the mind games, which I found childish and turned me off even more.

Joe apologized several times for his mistake, but Trish wo...more

This was the first Toni Blake book I read a few years ago and I forgot how awesome it was until I just re-read it.

I absolutely fell in love with Eden, IN. and the people there. Being born and raised in NYC, small town life, as described in this book, seems like heaven. And if it came with my own Joe...well...I'd pack my bags and move today!

Trish and Joe were childhood sweethearts with plans of a life together. On the night before Trish left for college, Joe made a mistake that broke Trish's hea...more

In theory, this was exactly what I was looking for.

1- A repentent hero who did more than enough groveling, self reflecting, wooing, and the icing on the cake - a grand gesture that was exactly what I wanted to win the heroine's heart. Joe was the perfect second chance hero.

2- Perfect chemistry, bittersweet memories of a first love gone wrong, and steamy sex scenes.

3- Quaint little town with lots of history and a great supporting cast of secondary characters.

So why only 3 stars? I just c...more

I really wanted to like this. I had read all the five star reviews elsewhere, and expected a great read.
Trisha and Joe had been high school sweethearts. Then just after graduation, when Trisha was leaving for college. Joe cheated with another girl.
Fourteen years later Trisha has returned home, to help her parents sell their diner. Almost the first person she runs into is Joe. It seems there is still a spark between them. But can Trisha forgive him?

When Trisha returns to her home town after fourt...more

I liked the story but still felt like it was to long and it seemed to never end I mean he tells her he loves her, she tells him she has to think, then she goes to his house and sees bev there and she doesn't think joe is with her but yet she doesnt trust him and runs away, then he goes to get her and again she tells him she doesn't want to go back, but I don't know like three minutes after he leaves she goes after him because she suddenly can't live without him and her life is boring whe five mi...more

I’ve read quite a few of Toni Blake’s novels now and have loved them all.
Tempt Me Tonight was no exception. For me it was like taking a trip back to my teenage years and all the wonder of first love. To remember the angst, excitement and giddiness and then the disappointment when it doesn’t turn out to be the perfection that you thought it was going to be.
Joe Ramsey was Trish Henderson’s first love, high school sweethearts. Both believe that they will be together forever. Joe then betrays Trish...more

I'm a fan of Toni Blake, and I think her writing talent is the only thing that kept me reading. This book was such a cheesy, predictable cliche of a romance novel. I should have known what to expect when the heroine holds a grudge for FOURTEEN YEARS because her teenage boyfriend had sex with someone else. Tragic? Yes. Forgivable? Yes. Also, I liked Joe a lot and thought he was a terrific hero - a normal, sexy, down-to-earth guy who has some faults. But he often called Trish "Cupcake" or "Trishy"...more

Trish Henderson has spent the last fourteen years away from her home in Eden, swooping into town on holidays to visit her parents and her best friend, avoiding the town and her ex-boyfriend, Joe Ramsey, at all costs. Now, she's come back for an extended stay to do some legal business for her parents, and the last person she wants to come face-to-face with is Joe. But she does, and way too soon for her liking. Joe's matured into one hell of a sexy man and despite their falling out, Trish can't ig...more

Toni Blake’s latest comes across as your typical small town romance laced with erotic undertones. But there is a telling message underneath the hot sex: How do you forgive and trust again the one who betrayed you?

Trish Henderson has finally returned to her small hometown of Eden, Indiana, to help with her parents’ retiring from running the local diner. At 32 she is a big city lawyer who broke away from the small town life. The night before she went away to college, she almost gave her virginity...more

This was a cute book about first love gone wrong then with a second chance.

I liked Trish. I would have been devastated like her with what Joe did to her. Which was why I loved her sense of revenge that she had for him. Was it right, no, was it nice, no, but was it an act that a normal person would do, absolutely. I even liked that when Joe realized just what had happened he was hurt.

But with all that being said I was glad that they were able to move past that. Their getting to know each other ag...more

I am especially picky with the books I read - and I usually immediately chuck the book when infidelity begins to show itself. I made an exception for this book however, because if there's anything I love more than a man baring his heart to his woman, it's a man grovelling for forgiveness. A thread on Amazon recommended this book as one with a lot of grovelling so I thought I'd give it a try even if the reason for said grovelling is infidelity. Guess what? I w...more

I was expecting something different from this story, but I really enjoyed it. It was kind of repetitive in some ways, which became sort of annoying but it helped explain the whole complicated story.

14 years ago Joe and Trish were 18 and in love, they were planning on marrying when she came back from college 4 years later. But on the eve of her leaving, Joe made a mistake that cost them both of the life they had planned. Instead Trish heartbroken, left for college became a layer and closed hersel...more

I disliked the heroine's thoughts and actions.

The story is about Trish who loved Joe as a teen. He hurt her and she left town. She returns 14 years later.

CAUTION SPOILERS: She still loves him but refuses to be honest about her feelings to herself as well as to him. Joe is a great guy. He never meant to hurt her. He still loves her and is patient with her. The major story line is Trish over-analyzing her feelings. She thinks wonderful things but never says them. She is afraid to express her love...more

PLAIN & SIMPLE A 10 STAR RATING!!

When do you become aware that you've come across a true-gem-of-a-book?

Could it be when you're talking to yourself. Answering the characters MANY questions. Reacting towards their response. Crying profusely due to the GUT-WRENCHING emotions being poured across the pages. Laugh your A** OFF. And above all, become completely INFURIATED when the Hero/Heroine DO NOT take your advice.

All the while, committing this WILD, TRAVESTY in PUBLIC, NO LESS! Having a few peo...more

OK, I know from reading the other reviews that this book is not for everyone. I however LOVED IT! I do not get up set when the hero cheats on the heroine if he truely feels sorry and Joe did. He admits that it was the worst mistake of his life and the cheating took place 14 years ago when they were teenagers. From the moment these two laid eye's on each other, 14 years later, I could see the sparks fling. Joe did everything he could possibly do to make it up to Trish. Trish took a long time to r...more

Wow.
No really,wow!
I had no idea this book would be good.
It really had no potential!
Why would you want to read about a reunion of a nice lovely girl and her high school sweet heart that had sex with an other chick one day before she left for the university (an two week before he was supposed to ask her to marry him)? No idea, right?
So i was really stunned when it turned out to be a lovely book!

The only thing I hate was the prospect of Bev having a HEA. I hope she does not. She was a real creep. Es...more

My first Toni Blake book and it was excellent! I loved the story line! Joe and Trisha were high school sweethearts who were so in love but one reckless night Joe made a mistake that changed their lives. Trisha moved away, went to college and never looked back. That is until years later she returns home and accidentally runs into Joe. The feelings they once shared are stronger than ever but is it really love or just sexual desire? Trisha finds the older Joe sexy as hell so why not use it to her a...more

Joe was Trish's first love & also the only guy to break her heart. After being betrayed by Joe the night before she left for college Trish doesn't return to her hometown, Eden, until many years later. Of course her first night back she runs into Joe and sparks still fly. In an act of revenge (even though she tries to deny it to herself) she sleeps with him & leaves in the middle. After that drama erupts between the two before they do start to see eachother while she's in town. Trish find...more

This is another one of those books that I have no idea how to rate. The story seemed to drag. I mean there's no denying they had chemistry, some really sweet moments and I did like the idea of rekindling your first love buuut the conflicts between the two were frustrating. It already pissed me off from the beginning because he cheated on her. I don't care how drunk or young or frustrated the hero was, it really lowers my standard of that character and thus he had a lot of groveling to do. On the...more

Another great story by Toni Blake. I love the small town setting and the characters that give the feel of community as well as the hero and heroine.

Toni Blake's love of writing began when she won an essay contest in the fifth grade. Soon after, she penned her first novel, nineteen notebook-pages long, and announced to her mother over breakfast one day that she was going to be a writer when she grew up. Since then, Toni has become the author of more than a dozen contemporary romance novels. Her work has been excerpted in Cosmo, she's been a re...more
