It is a beautiful book full of fun rhymes and vivid illustrations. I'm looking forward to reading it with my grandbaby in Minnesota. I have not found it altogether successful as a read aloud in Africa where children at the age of nursery rhymes do not usually have enough English to even appreciate the sounds much less the sense of the poetry. I find they are confused by multiple pictures on the page, some of which relate to the poem I am not yet reading.

The author lives near me and is a wonderful, friendly person. These are rhymes and games from her childhood in Nigeria.
