In these photographs, I was struck by the intricacies of things like the ceilings, the wallpaper, the statues. Formal decorating is the norm in this collection. I found myself lingering over photographs with shelves of books.

Desmond John Villiers FitzGerald, 29th Knight of Glin. The title, in use since the early 14th century, became extinct upon his death. Graduate of Harvard University, where he received a Master's degree in Fine Arts (MFA). In 1991, he became president of the Irish Georgian Society.
