Phew! After a few slower volumes this one makes up for it! Briar has reached a new level of terrifying and the quick jumps from groups of characters made it impossible to attempt to stop once I started. The next time someone offers me tea (and I happen to holding a large sword) I am so pulling a "Thorn Thunk!". As an individual volume in the 9-part Bone series, TREASURE HUNTERS is just as beautiful, and the plot just as moving, but the characters and stories aren't as strong. That said, if you liked the first one, you might just as well read them all. And to be fair, I did miss my stop on the train because I was reading TREASURE HUNTERS so intently.

You don't have to like comics to like this series! If you like humor, if you like fantasy, if you like adventure, if you like surprising plot twists, you should read it. I can't say the Bone series is like anything else, because it's not. Just read it!

BONE gets darker and darker, and more and more hilarious, with each volume. I've said so much about it already--no need to say more. Just read BONE already.
