Pretty illustrations and a clever telling of the old fairy tale, but isn't it rather segregationist to have the tiger prince's perfect match be a tiger princess after sorting through all those borish pig princesses and hippo princess?

I loved this book when I was little, totally enthralled with the idea of a huge bed of mattress piled upon mattress and a tiny little pea at the bottom that the main character can still feel.

I LOVED this book and my mom told me she would put a pea under my bed to see if I could feel it. Don't know if she did, but I was very aware of any extra lumps from then on :)

I love the illustrations. The queen is a tiger and wears rings on every appendage, including her tail:) It makes me smile...

One of my FAVORITES growing up. I've been working on an idea for a quilt based on it actually. But I love this one.

Hans Christian Anderson did an amazing job in writing this hilarious story about how sensitive a princess is.
