I loved this book when I was about nine or ten. My mum got it out from the library for me and I read it over and over and over again, refusing to let her take it back to the library for me. My girlfriend got me a copy of my own, eventually, and I still love it. Andrew's progression from robot to human is touching and the reactions of the characters in the background are believable and realistic -- from acceptance to disquiet to hate.

Picked this up at the Library while I was upgrading there computers. It's a good, quick read. Anyone who watched Bicentennial Man with Robin Williams will quickly recognize the plot - the movie and this book were both based on Asimov's original short story. Anther interesting look at a possible future which is already a bit dated (I was promised a robot butler by 2005, dangit!!)

This is a classic scifi book dealing with androids and how they might live among humans. This is a haunting and sad tale of an android who becomes humanoid but is never accepted as a human. He out-lives his original family. This is the book that the movie Bicentennial Man with Robin Williams is based upon. The book is much sadder and more serious than the movie, as usual.

I read this one in German (my German is not that well), but I have previously read "The bicentennial man" in English, so I understood the idea pretty well...

This kind of stories make you appreciate the fact that you are human and alive...

This is my favorite Asimov book and my favorite sci fi book. It's a heart-warming tale about a robot who develops feelings and a sense of self. His story spans several generations of humans, which I find particularly interesting.

I read this book for my book club and it just reaffirmed my opinion that science fiction is not my genre of choice. I didn't hate it, but I'm glad that I'm done with it!
