A decent overwiev of crucial years of Rome. Years when Roman republic was facing various internal and external challenges culminating in series of civil wars and eventual transformation into Empire. This book covers human aspect of this transformation, who held what position and when, what was their relationship with other players and how everybody jockeyed to gain advantage and rise in the system.
