Perfect little novella. I loved it! It was small enough to read in one sitting. The joy jumped off the pages. It's the perfect reading for a cold February evening.

This is a very sweet book (in a wierd way considering that it's about a girl who they are trying to train to be a courtesan). Gigi's voice is truthful and knowing--and makes a choice where one did not exist before.

I always wanted to read this to see if it was as creepy as the movie. And while it doesn't have the ultimate creepitude of Maurice Chevalier crooning about little girls, the answer is yes, yes it is.

Wonderful short fiction piece about a young Parisian girl at the turn of the century who wants more from her life than to be a courtesan, much to the dismay of her elderly aunt and grandmother.

Remarquably fresh story of a young girl training to be a prostitute yet keeps a large portion of her sky blue.
Written with tenderness, honesty and poetry.

Explained more about the movie I saw as a child, similarly named. As I read it, I could not get Charles Boyer out of my head. Fun and outdated.
