Even though many of the stories in this collection are unfinished, the writing is terrific and well worth reading. Most of these pieces serve to showcase not just Howard's peerless ability to describe action, but his great sense of humor as well.

For juvenilia, these are entertaining tales. I couldn't have written as well at that age. They add a lot to the El Borak characters, and the supporting characters. Almost wish I had read this before reading his adult work with the characters.

Robert Ervin Howard was an American pulp writer of fantasy, horror, historical adventure, boxing, western, and detective fiction.
