Awww, that ending ;))

I liked this book, in fact I LOVE this series!
To me, if Awakened was like a better version of Beautiful Creatures, then Betrayed was more like a better version of "The Mortal Instruments". (I mean, I find them to be similar somehow, don't hold it against me if you don't think so, LOL)
Reading this book felt like meeting with an old good friend of mine - I remembered some of the things I liked in the first story and I got to know a lot more new interesting things from this on...more

Any and every YA lover
2 words, baby: Utter brilliance.
This book takes all angelic novels a whole league up, and it was more than i expected after reading AWAKENED and more. Seriously people, you have got to read this or you're really missing out on life.
Anyway, this book follows our beautiful, smart, witty, powerful - in short, real perfect - protagonist, Lil as she starts getting used to her life as a Guardian(half-angels). Previously, she hated the idea of not being fully-human, to have such crazy powers was a waki...more

I want to start out by saying how much I loved this book. I have never quite enjoyed characters the way that I enjoy these ones. I have found myself to be very much attached to them. I am so glad that I found this series and gave it a chance because boy am I happy that I did. Ednah has a fan for life in me. I will love these characters for ever.

I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I laughed during the reading of this spectacular novel. It was one of those extraordinary reads that is full of so much humor you find yourself laughing on almost every page. The language and dialogue was very fluid and addicting, I felt Ednah really touched the basis of teenage angst and everything dramatic that goes on in a sixteen year-old’s head. It was one of the many books I’ve ever read in first person that I could actually feel tuned in with...more
I decided to review these books as a series. I truly loved reading these books. The story puts a new twist on super powers, demons and the super natural. From the first page I was hooked and could barely put the books down, I was lacking in sleep until both books were done. I found that Ednah Walters wrote her teenage characters perfectly, they acted and thought like teens and were treated accordingly by the adults in the books.

After reading Awakened I was eager to dive into Betrayed and it didn't disapppoint. In fact I think this book is even better than the first book. What I loved the most was the fact I was kept guessing of who done it's or who is behind this or that. I normally can figure or nearly figure out who it is but this one I for the life of me figure who the traitor was or why her friends were now acting so strangely and very rude.

I'll start with the obvious by saying that it's probably a lot easier for people to get into this book if they've read the first in the series, Awakened. Betrayed pretty much kicks off where the first ends, just a little time passes - Lil is training and pretty much being the kick-ass heroine that she was in Awakened, just more knowledgable and a lot more disciplined.

My Blurb:
Lil finds herself stuck in the middle of a betrayal by someone close to her as her father gains knowledge of her through this person. Is it one of her friends? One of her fellow trainees? Is it Bran the one she loves?
The only way to find out for sure is to enter the lair of the lion.
Lets Talk About It:

I've just got to say it...I'm kinda crazy about this series. It's fun, exciting, it's chalk full of great characters, and I'm always wondering what's going to happen next. I'm still not a fan of these covers, but by not judging a book that way I lucked out this time around. Walters had me a little nervous (OK, a lot) throughout this sequel, and once again I'm anxious for the next installment in the series.

This book was brilliant. I have read several books about angels that have been good, but typically, I have not really been drawn to this type of story. After reading the blurb about Betrayed, I was intrigued and interested in the book, and I absolutely loved it. Lil is 16 years old, part Nephilim, part human, part demon..yes...and she is the Chosen, a Guardian in training, and one kick-butt heroine. She and her friends and fellow Guardians go to high school by day, blending in with the humans, w...more

Such a great read!
I read Awakened back in 2010 so this book was a long time coming, but so incredibly worth the wait.
Betrayed was everything I was hoping it would be. I just adore the way Ednah Walters combines mythology, the four elements (and then some) with angel/demon lore without overwhelming the readers. Sometimes to many elements can make it to much, but it's not the case for this book, it's the perfect touch to entice the story line.

Betrayed was so much better than I expected- seriously. After not completely enjoying Awaken, I figured this book would have the same affect but boy, was I wrong.
Lil has excepted her powers and for the most part, her role as The Chosen One. Bran and his sister, Celeste become like family and are accepted by the Grampa and the other Guardians. Betrayed starts up right where Awakened left off. I really liked seeing how the characters developed in this book, especially comparing them to how they began in Awakened. Lil is beginning to accept who she is, and continues to learn how to use her powers. She matures a lot in this book, and has to make difficult decisions, which shows how much her character has developed. I like how she handled the Specials-it really says volumes about her. I also liked how her relationship with Bran progressed...more
Wow. Okay. It was even better than the first one, and I thought that was impossible.
I dreaded reading this book. I didn't want to be disappointed by a Edward-Bella (Norah-Patch, Luce-Daniel, Beth-Xavier etc) scenario where the boy becomes all moody and depressed and yells at the girl and she puts up with it. They always go something like this:
Guy: B*tch F-off, I HATE YOU! I'LL KEEP WHATEVER DAMN SECRETS I WANT.
Girl: *Cries* Fine I'm never talking to you again!

Betrayed jumps back into the action with the Cardinal Guardian trainees we met in Awakened (read my review here). Lil, who had to deal with her entire life being turned upside down in Awakened, really seems to have things together at the start of Betrayed. Then she receives a cryptic phone call from her demonic father that leaves her wondering if someone she thought she could trust is actually betraying her.

This book started out a little differently, which is good, but I wasn't very convinced at first. Generally, a book starts with the character not knowing who or what she is and later on discovering that she has great power or is fated to save the world; also she always falls in love later. In this book, though, she already knows she's a key to saving the world and has already found this perfect boyfriend. She has ev...more

Betrayed is the second book in The Guardian Legacy series. It's full of mystery, suspense, and betrayal as Lil tries to find out who has betrayed her. On the flip side, Lil is also keeping secrets from the ones she loves, including Bran. This book was cleverly written, and I was kept guessing what was going on up until the very end.

An awesome book… can’ wait for the next bookkkk :D
My thought
Characters
*. Bran - still an awesome guy :), who likes grin .. hey, I like a guy who likes grin lol, handsome, protective in the sense, possesif at the right time and not excessive even though lil 'd say it is not necessary because I'm yours. But this book, I want to kick his ass for keeping a secret, arghhh
*. Lil, I hope she can more stronger and explicit especially about bran.

This book was incredibly frustrating but incredibly addictive at the same time. I really enjoyed the story, despite there being moments where I wanted to strangle the characters. I always enjoy a good angel read and this is definitely a fun one.

Beautifully written Urban Fantasy that revolves around the Nephilim. Now I have not read the first in the series, though I plan to soon. I was able to follow along just fine without any real pressing questions.
I really found myself liking Lil. She is strong, caring, and full of compassion. There is no quick judgement, even when her father tries to plant deceit in her mind or Bran does *something*. It doesn't mean she doesn't feel anger or hurt, but she understands especially when it comes to Bra...more

Betrayed is action packed experience , love gushing , and betraying book. Could not put this one down and stayed up half the night to finish. Betrayed is not predictable at all. I didn't know who betrayed Lil and the guardians till the end. Lil and Bran romance gets even better and a little smexy. After enjoying the first book, I wanted to like this one more than I did. It seems to suffer from 2nd movie syndrome - all of the new, interesting information is already out there, and now we have to figure out how to get from there to book 3. And here it takes the form of a lot of action, a lot of discord between our main character and her boyfriend, and some disjointed info dumping.

Ednah Walters has captivated me once again with her amazing characters and wonderful storytelling. With even more action, heartache, trouble, mayhem, betrayal, and angst than Awakened, Betrayed has definitely exceeded my expectations!

Ednah Walters continues her impressive streak! Just like Awakened, Betrayed has risen above all the other books in this genre. She has created such an amazing world for her Guardians & demons where good and evil are not as simple as it seems they should be. The complex relationships between Lil & Bran, as well as, Lil & her father are so pragmatic. You can feel the push and pull of emotions as Lil figures out who she must trust. It's so refreshing to have a heroine who has to learn t...more

I luckily was able to find the first book and get up to speed, and not be so confused when I read Betrayed!
