Ms. Grey’s “Her Laird, Her Lover” is a mini masterpiece of a novella in the tradition of the larger works of Kathleen Woodiwiss’ The Wolf and The Dove and Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series. In case you’re not getting my vibe, let me make it clear, I absolutely loved this novella! The characters, setting, plot were as near perfection as I’ve read. Katie Stewart is a woman out of her time. She’s articulate, feisty and gives as good as she gets. Robert Shelley, the Laird of Dunham is a man of his t...more
**Heather of "Everybody Needs a Little Romance" - The story is short but well paced with just the right amount of description regarding characters, places and events. You are drawn into their world from the beginning and can sympathize with Katie. I don’t know what I would do without my modern gadgets (Iphone, computer, baths, etc). Over all I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the second book in this series. I give the story 3 1/2 Flaming Hearts

I got the unexpected when I read Her Laird. I expected it to be a flowing love story, not a story that went right into the meat of the story. Katie, a young blind woman lived alone with her mother Magda. Katie's life is turned around again when Robert Shelley walks into the home/shop Magda and Katie live in and operate.
Katie and Robert begin a quick and passionate love affair, neither can stay away from each other and when tragedy strikes, Robert and his family are there f...more

A good read... A modern woman living in medieval scotland. There were elements of the time-travel that didn't feel well explained but all in all it was a good short story. Read it in less than an hour.
