Darren Shan wins again in the fourth installment of this addictive series. I challenge anyone who has read one of the books in the series to claim that anything else was on their mind until reading the next book in the series...and the next, next, next...
Vampire Mountain presents several new twists and pieces of information that add even more intrigue to an already addictive and entertaining series.

In Vampire Mountain, Darren is carring out his duty of being a vampire assisstant. He travels with Mr. Crepsley to Vampire Mountain, a journey vampires only make every twelve years. There is something wrong, a group who separated themselves from the vampire race long ago are beginning to cause destruction. There are two types of vampires in this tale. There are those who just take human's blood when they need to - in other words, meal time. Still, there are those who take when it's not needed an...more

This book is when Darren leaves his city, and moves to the place where vampires live. It is not easy to go there, for they have to cross a trail that is very vold an dangerous. Darren fights bears, and the dangers of the cold. He gets frostbites and learns that everything isn't easy. I learned from this book that even if there are hardships that prevent people from getting what they want, they are there for the right reason. They make people stronger and know what to do when it happens ...more

Darren shan, half vampire embarks on a journey like not other . sacrificing his life at the age of eight to become a vampire, He is now challenge by the Vampire Generals to prove he has the strength and loyalty that a vampire should inherit. This book reminds me of the challenges we face in every day life. It's easy to be verbally committed, but its herder to prove your commitment.
The book is interesting as well as action packed, it's a 9.5 in my book.

It was a good book, but there are a few minor letdowns with it. For one most of the book is just them walking up a big mountain and metting a pack of wolfs. Another problem with the book in that they ran into a dead vampire and a bear with vampanzie blood in it and yet the dont rush to tell the clan about it.
the book had a some good points to. it gave you insight to the vampire way of life, and how powerful demond tiny is and show what there truly like

Vampire Mountain is about how Mr.Crepsley and Darren take a journey to the Vampire Mountain. The Vampire Mountain is where vampires learn how to defend and there is the Council. The Council is where the Generals are at and The Princes. Mr.Crepsley shows Darren to the Princes and they decide to challenge him on the Trials and if he passes then they will know that he is worth being a half-vampire. I want to read the fifth book so badly.

really enjoyed this 4th book in the Cirque Du Freak series. While the first 3 books in the series dealt with Darren becoming a half-vampire and a couple of adventures he had with Cirque Du Freak, this 4th book introduces Darren to the society of Vampires headed by the Vampire Princes. It takes place 6 years after the 3rd book, and tells about the journey of Darren and Mr. Crepsley to Vampire Mountain for a council meeting.

This book shows how Darren now is a true vampire and creature of the night. He ventures on a hard path all the way to the top of Vampire Mountain to stand trial for being blooded by Mr. Crepsley. I have learnt that pain isn't the only thing that awaits before death.

This book was slower than the others. I think it exists primarily to introduce characters and set up the next book. I still found it interesting as a great deal of background information was made available in this installment to the series.

I sort of see what the kids are liking about this series. The backstories of all the characters are fascinating. Plus, it's very gory...
I love the concept of the vampaneze giving vampires a bad name. Very clever.

Check out my review of Cirque Du Freak #1: The Saga of Darren Shan to see what I mean when I say BEST SERIES EVER! Book 4 is probably my least favorite book in the series, but it's still pretty darn amazing!

This is a brilliant book. We get to learn more about Darren Shan's world, and the vampires. A good portion of the book is travel, but that doesn't detract from the plot or page-turning effect of the series.

The story is pretty good, even if the writing style leaves something to be desired. I've been able to predict the ending in each of the books so far, but the story itself has definitely grown on me.
