Probably the best of the "submissive/masochist girl gets involved in a big organized secret bdsm club" genre. Part of that is the writing, which is quite good, and a lot more of it is the heroine. Carrie is a smart-alecky intellectual who over thinks things and manages to be both ironic and sincere about her adventures in kink, and in the end, you find yourself caring about her and wondering what will become of her.

Not bad, but I liked the introduction about being a girl reading erotica and thinking it was naughty more than I liked the actual story. Carrie's relationahips all seem very one dimensional (and I suppose that one dimension is sex, but still), and for a self-proclaimed thinking-girl/smart-girl, I found Carrie's lack of insight and analysis to be disappointing.
