I loved the Fudge books SO much as a kid. Then, even better, I brought my son on board as a fan when he was in primary school. Was such fun to revisit them together and share private jokes about Fudgie, Peetah and Tootsie. ('Eat it or wear it.') Deserved classics.

A couple of my most loved books from when I was younger. I still read them sometimes and they still make me chuckle. I recommend this to everyone. Young and old.

Tales is a must read every year with the kids. I love doing Fudge's voice and reading the birthday party scene with the kids. :)

At the end of first grade, our teacher took each of us aside and had us read aloud to her to assess our reading and comprehension skills. I'm not sure what she had other people read (since the title suggests to me that this book was intended for fourth-graders), but for whatever reason she had me read the first chapter of Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, and I thought it was the funniest thing I had ever read and immediately fell in love with it.

This delightful Judy Blume novel about a boy and his bratty little brother didn't mean that much to me when I was a kid -- I was much more interested in Blume's girl-oriented novels. But now that my older boy is (a) reading and (b) possessed of a little brother, we gave this one another look and found it to be a perfect book to share. Peter's travails are funny and moving, and Blume doesn't shy away from some of the more difficult feelings a kid can have about his family life and friends at scho...more

Loved the Superfudge book.

Maybe the most important book that kids aren't reading today. Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary were THE authors to read when I was in elementary school. Now all they read is manga and Harry Potter. Whatever, my kids will know what Fudge and Ramona are all about.

I remember reading these books, more than once, as a young'un in Appalachia and being fascinated by the idea of a doorman and the other sights and sounds of the big city. The romance has never quite gone away. (And I remain in Appalachia.)

I re-read this book with my 4-year-old son last month, and remembered how much I absolutely adored it as a kid. He and I were both laughing in parts, and he really seemed to enjoy it, too.

Judy Blume spent her childhood in Elizabeth, New Jersey, making up stories inside her head. She has spent her adult years in many places doing the same thing, only now she writes her stories down on paper. Adults as well as children will recognize such Blume titles as: Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret; Blubber; Just as Long as We're Together; and the five book series about the irrepressible Fu...more
