The writing was all over the place. There's a lot of good basic information about owls, but also a lot of surprisingly advanced sections, and then some sections written by the author's friends that are largely aimless.
For a $40 coffee-table sized book, I was quite disappointed in the pictures.

Biologists, naturalists, and anyone interested in owls
As a wildlife rehabilitator, I am always seeking new information on the species I treat. This book is packed with accurate information about owls. The author also acknowledges the current confusion surrounding the actual number of existing owl species and difficulties in determining species counts.
