Wow. Let me say it again. Wow.

My friends recommended that I read this, and I didn't want to for the longest time because I was so busy with school, and then when I finally did start to read it, it took so long to get through a single volume because I got so hung up on the art. Arakawa's drawing style isn't just plain old manga, it's a piece of genius! Every chapter - yes, all 108 of them - showcased beautiful pen and ink technique, and I would just analyze the art for minutes before moving onto

I don't want this series to end! I love it so much. But...I want to know what happens! Am I the only one having this problem? -__-

It's possible I've just outgrown a series I started eight years ago, but I'm worried that with this being the second-to-last volume, Fullmetal Alchemist will go out with a whimper.

Stuff happens. There's a big, epic, kinda confusing battle. It's drawn really well. But the problem that's plagued this book for a few volumes now is this: Ed and Al don't do anything. It's a little better here, and in the last third of the story, Ed does get to do something you would expect the main character to do.

¡¡Fuuuuummm!!

Here we are with the penultimate volume of this series. Everything is coming to a head, the build up of years of storytelling coming together at last, and the execution of it all is fantastic. Fullmetal Alchemist has become the standard that I measure great shounen by: well developed characters, an interesting (and at times quite intricate) plot, solid artwork, the perfect balance between action and emotion. Yes, this series makes me cry in the end. Final volume in December!

I love this anime (the Brotherhood one) and manga so much! I can't believe that there's only one volume left, I really want to know what happens next but I also don't want this series to end, it's so good!.

Gore: Yes, kind of, it's hard for me to be too sure: there is a lot of blood, dead bodies, and the thing that happens at the end.
Magic: Yes (the alchemy they us

Wow, only one volume left. Can't believe it. Seriously this is really good series, with memorable characters. A lot happens in this throughout. Wonder how it'll all end.

Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist, vol. 26 (ViZ, 2010)

NOTE: this review contains a major spoiler for vol. 25—peruse at your own risk if you have not yet read vol. 25.

FMA's penultimate volume ratchets up the action yet again, as the five human sacrifices face off against Pride and the Dwarf in the Flask, while Scar continues his epic battler against Wrath. All well and good, and just when it looks like things are darkest—WAIT, THAT CLIFFHANGER. Oh, man, I think I'll be putting vol. 27 on hold a

The Dwarf in the Flask executes his plan and our heroes counter with their own scheme. While it's all fighting, Hiromu Arakawa again deftly interweaves character and storytelling into the combat in a way few, if any, others can.

Furthermore, this volume provides a great deal of payoff for story elements introduced over the course of the series. One more to go, half excited-half sad that it's about to be over.

This is the best manga and anime I have seen and read yet. It teaches you so many valuable life lessons, such as the concept of equivalent exchange. I also love the art work it is amazing. I also love the characters in the manga and how they progress as the manga continued. My favorite character was Edward Elric. He is an amazing character. I would seriously recommend this to any one who likes manga with action and suspense in it. I would also highly recommend the anime as well.

It seems things that happend back in Xerxes are going to happen all over again on a even bigger scale. A certain Homunclus wants to become god, but Hohenheim has something up his sleeve (and scar very literally, does, too).

It's the start of the final fight.

The things that happen on the side are again the things that really count: Everyone is working together and fighting - even those who are seriously handicapped by now. It's nice to see everyone play a part.

This is the penultimate volume of the Fullmetal Alchemist series, so the plotlines that we have been following for years are finally coming to an end. Father has become a near god, only to be thwarted by Scar's Ishbalan restoration alchemy. There are final confrontations with Pride and Wrath. The final battle begins in this volume and will obviously playout in the next volume.

The waiting is killing me!

Action-packed, thickening plot, three-dimensional characters, and humor drizzled on each character, Fullmetal Alchemist is a book that should definitely be read by all. Left me with tears in my eyes and a warm heart for every character that you meet along Ed and Al's long journey.
Alan
There is just something about FMA's characters that I enjoy and makes me smile. Ed, Al, Roy and Izumi are people I could almost see myself hanging out with (except I'm not an alchemist). The stakes keep getting raised higher, and Hohenheim helps to save the alchemists and prevent a catastrophe. Very fast paced, enjoyable, and one more volume to go with what is likely to be my favorite mange series.

So I'm like, this is the PENULTIMATE volume. Therefore, the climax should happen in this book and leave the next book to wrap things up.

No.

Nope.

Huh. Nahhh.

Ends on a cliffhanger. AUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHH!!!!

Last volume in December.
Chip
I've been watching the end of this series slowly come into focus like the targeting sights on WWII tank. This is the next to last volume. In fact, by now the final volume should be available. Another quality edition. Loved it.
Deborah Balsham
This issue was so harrowing, because so many lives were in jeopardy in these chapters. Arakawa had killes off a beloved character early in the manga, so I wouldn't put it past her to destroy even more beloved characters.
Tracey
Wow. Just...wow. This penultimate volume in the series builds to an incredible crescendo. How the Elric brothers, their friends, and their home country turn out--if they survive--will doubtless be sublime.
Aubrey Hansen
There's a little bit of religion/mysticism in the climax, about the "Father" wanting to contain a "so-called 'God'" (as the other characters say) in itself, but it resolves well.
Rachel (Sfogs)
WOW!!! It's awesome!!
Pride your true form is sooo cute~!!
That was a clever trick for getting the souls and bodies re-attached.

Ayo, ayo, 1 buku lagi.

Tapi kalau sudah tamat nanti, pasti deh kehilangan acara menunggu serial ini terbit...

This book was a great ending to the series, I was very sad to have it end, but all in all it was sheer awesomeness.

I really do love hohenheim, even if he was a deadbeat father. also, this was intense as hell!
