Reading manga while listening the soundtracks of anime is a magnificent experience. I don't what it to end...This manga is so beautiful that I can't even describe! The story is incredible, characters are perfect, artwork is excellent!
Have to know how it is going to end. The last volume remains, but I am not ready to say goodbye...

Wow. Let me say it again. Wow.

My friends recommended that I read this, and I didn't want to for the longest time because I was so busy with school, and then when I finally did start to read it, it took so long to get through a single volume because I got so hung up on the art. Arakawa's drawing style isn't just plain old manga, it's a piece of genius! Every chapter - yes, all 108 of them - showcased beautiful pen and ink technique, and I would just analyze the art for minutes before moving onto

Everything ends, all the struggle, all the tears, all hope gone. But humans are amazing like that, they never give up. When all seemed nigh, the counter attack begins. First Hoheheim with his carefully crafted scheme, then Scar with the reverse transmutation circle. All the remaining Homunculus meet their end. But "Father" keeps on fighting without even flinching. Edward Elric shows his real power against Pride. Now he needs to beat "Father" as well, who consumed the supposedly "God".

I don't want this series to end! I love it so much. But...I want to know what happens! Am I the only one having this problem? -__-

Words really cannot express how much this series means to me. I read the final chapter online, literally, as soon as I could get my hands on it. Which, because people on the internet are amazing and translate them within a few days, was probably at some point in 2010, when I was 18. I am 24 now, and my boyfriend has recently started reading it, which has been sending me on a huge nostalgia trip on how important this manga and show(s) are.

Arakawa is an incredible artist, writer, and storyteller.

¡¡Fuuuuummm!!

It's possible I've just outgrown a series I started eight years ago, but I'm worried that with this being the second-to-last volume, Fullmetal Alchemist will go out with a whimper.

Stuff happens. There's a big, epic, kinda confusing battle. It's drawn really well. But the problem that's plagued this book for a few volumes now is this: Ed and Al don't do anything. It's a little better here, and in the last third of the story, Ed does get to do something you would expect the main character to do.

Here we are with the penultimate volume of this series. Everything is coming to a head, the build up of years of storytelling coming together at last, and the execution of it all is fantastic. Fullmetal Alchemist has become the standard that I measure great shounen by: well developed characters, an interesting (and at times quite intricate) plot, solid artwork, the perfect balance between action and emotion. Yes, this series makes me cry in the end. Final volume in December!

This volume covers the final battle, and what a battle it is! The father of all Hormunculi is not holding back on his attacks on all of our heroes. So much pain and loss amidst the breakneck action.

Obožujem FMA. Pogledala sem anime, prebrala mange in ne morem se ga naveličati. Zgodba je perfektna, o dveh bratih alkimistih, ki prekršita glavno pravilo alkimije in poskusita opraviti človeško transmutacijo. To drago plačata - en s celim telesom in drugi z dvema udoma. In odločita se, da bosta dobila svoji telesi nazaj, kar ju privede do tega, da se priključita državnim alkimistom, v vojaško nastrojeni državi, ki pa ima popolnoma svoje načrte za svoje prebivalstvo ...

V glavnem. Res priporočam.

I love this anime (the Brotherhood one) and manga so much! I can't believe that there's only one volume left, I really want to know what happens next but I also don't want this series to end, it's so good!.

More fighting and we get to the end for various characters we've known for some time would be defeated, such as Bradley and Pride. I loved every second of this.

The Dwarf in the Flask executes his plan and our heroes counter with their own scheme. While it's all fighting, Hiromu Arakawa again deftly interweaves character and storytelling into the combat in a way few, if any, others can.

Furthermore, this volume provides a great deal of payoff for story elements introduced over the course of the series. One more to go, half excited-half sad that it's about to be over.

Those who have, like me, been entranced by this series are rewarded by a work of high quality story and art as the final pieces of the plan are both completed, revealed and enacted. The story arc has remained consistent throughout its complexity in characters, and the art is of the highest order. Things are suitably epic as years of planning come to a head as characters fight and battle for what they want and believe in. The execution is fantastic, the payoff worth it, and things are still not f ...more

Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist, vol. 26 (ViZ, 2010)

NOTE: this review contains a major spoiler for vol. 25—peruse at your own risk if you have not yet read vol. 25.

FMA's penultimate volume ratchets up the action yet again, as the five human sacrifices face off against Pride and the Dwarf in the Flask, while Scar continues his epic battler against Wrath. All well and good, and just when it looks like things are darkest—WAIT, THAT CLIFFHANGER. Oh, man, I think I'll be putting vol. 27 on hold a

I don't know if i'm too used to more exposition or this just needed more. The story definitely has a fair bit of explanation, but I didn't quite get if the dwarf in the bottle was meant to be alphonse or we were meant to know that its form as a skinny kid was significant in some other way. Sometimes i also get lost in what the homonculi are trying to achieve- lonely immortality doesn't seem worth it to me, but maybe to others it does. The confrontation between selim bradley and ed was awesome!

There is just something about FMA's characters that I enjoy and makes me smile. Ed, Al, Roy and Izumi are people I could almost see myself hanging out with (except I'm not an alchemist). The stakes keep getting raised higher, and Hohenheim helps to save the alchemists and prevent a catastrophe. Very fast paced, enjoyable, and one more volume to go with what is likely to be my favorite mange series.

Okay, Van Hohenheim has had MORE than his fair share of screen time here. Good thing he happened to have all that stuff set up in advance that no one could possibly have foreseen, so he could spend pages and pages explaining it all while he went from being a fairly minor character to being the OP saviour of all.
Bleh.

Lots more fighting. I'm also getting worried. Ed and Al are more or less pushed into the margins while the bigger powers fight it out. This makes me worry that they're going to get their bodies back through some miraculous event, rather than through their own work. And while I enjoy the strong secondary characters, I got into this series with Ed and Al, so I want to end it with them, too. I'm crossing my fingers going into the final volume.

This is the best manga and anime I have seen and read yet. It teaches you so many valuable life lessons, such as the concept of equivalent exchange. I also love the art work it is amazing. I also love the characters in the manga and how they progress as the manga continued. My favorite character was Edward Elric. He is an amazing character. I would seriously recommend this to any one who likes manga with action and suspense in it. I would also highly recommend the anime as well.
