I use this book as a reference all the time. Sometimes it yields more information than I need, while other times not nearly enough but perhaps it's a start. I can't say it's "amazing" but it's definitely my first go-to for the spiritual and healing info on crystals and minerals.
I'm not terribly sciencey so I can't speak with full authority to the bits of the book that talk about the scientific facts about crystals, but they did seem fairly accurate when compared to my hazy memory of geology.
The rest of the book I found useful. It has full color pictures of crystals so you can actually ID those stray stones in your collection (I found out I have a piece of Kyanite, f'ex). The information on how to use the crystals does focus on healing, but I didn't see any glaring err...more

There are books whose ratings I go up and down on. This is one of them: I vacillate between saying that I LIKE this book, and then saying I REALLY like it. I am staying put, for now, in the former category. Why? Because, so far, four stars is my highest rating on a book HERE at goodreads. Why (again)? Well, I can't remember thinking that any book was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G ever. Great? Yeah, heck yeah! But amazing? Scritch-scratch-scritch, that's the sound of me scratching my head.

What a wonderful detailed book about crystals this is! I'm thoroughly enjoying studying this, am coming to the end of it and will study it again after I've finished - such is the vastness of the descriptions and meanings of each crystal, the properties and attributes that are contained within them, the various countries where they were discovered, how they can aid the healing process, and lots more.

Impulse purchase. It's key focus is on the healing effects of crystals, which I'm not interested in.
Looking up crystals with this book fills me with despair. Scientifically-unfounded paragraphs about "healing properties" fill the 400-pages of this book -- all that wasted space could have been used for including more crystals, not to mention useful information about the history and facts behind each crystal. I honestly love this book, although there are a few things I find issues with, it is overall a wodnerful book to have.
The small, compact size may seem odd, but the book is chocked full of very useful information and guides, going beyond a simple book of crystals to a working guide of how to utilize their various energies in a myriad of techniques, from crystal grids for particular rooms to wearing them in alignment to a particular body part or chakra, to healing with gem elixers.

This is a wonderful book. Anyone who is interested in the different properties of these organize crystalline structures and how they can be applied to their lives needs to purchase this book. I found it used on amaazon and has really brought my awareness to a whole new level and my ability to explain crystal healing to my friends and family without seeming strange to them. Great read. Thank you Judy!

I bought this book in the Bangkok Airport, and then read it on my long flight from Bangkok to Munich. It definitely paid off to buy this book! I know a lot of crystals, but I don't think that there was one in this book that I knew! It is amazing to see how many crystals are out there! This is definitely a great reference book (especially for all the other advice that it gives on how to use crystals, etc)
An awesome book on hundreds of common, and uncommon crystals! Has information about how crystals how made, a detailed description of each crystals properties, Has references to other things, including chakras. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in crystals and especially crystal healing or using crystals for spirituality etc.
this book is next to my bed all the time it's used as a reference for us each time we have something we think crystals might help with ranging from health issues to stress and simple relaxation might not be to everyone's taste but if you like this sort of the g you should get this book

One of the best reference books for crystals that I have run across. I use it constantly, the only problem is flipping back and forth from the index to the referenced pages to see if I have the crystal recommended (I have a lot but not all by any means).
Small but thick book about crystals, their healing properties and other very useful information. Small crystals are used to power much technology in society. This is becuase of of their inherent power which can also be used for healing.
The Crystal Bible certainly is definitive. The pictures are gorgeous and the descriptions are wonderfully packed with info about each crystal. I borrowed this from a friend and now I am going to have to buy my own copy.
Not a definitive guide to crystals by any means - if thats what you are looking for try Love is in The Earth or any of Melodys works - but it is still a useful quick reference guide if you kind of know what you are looking for.
My copy is worn with use, and along with my dictionary, it is always near and often used. In fact, I rarely bother returning it to the bookshelf anymore. A must-have guide for the beginner and a fantastic reference.

I love this book. The information is presented in a concise manner, yet easy to read. Each crystal has full color photos, & it's a great size to be able to reference time & time again.
This is a great reference book. It gives more meaning to a stone/crystal than just it's outer beauty. This is another fav that will sit close to my tarot and astrology books. :)

I really love this book! It's a great reference if you're into crystals and meditation. It has very nice pictures of crystals, and excellent information as well.
Excellent handbook for the beginner! Has over 200 crystals with their names, healing, and wonderful illustrations. I refer to this book regularly.
In trying to learn more about crystals, this book has been invaluable. My identification of unclassified crystals has greatly improved with this book.

I very much like this book, its a helpful guide and the pictures are very nice which helps with identification. This has to be my favortie crystal book. Also, I like that you can look up crystals in the index through what effect you're looing for.
